    Hi All,

I have a 1st Gen Beovision Eclipse with the plantetary motorised floor stand. The stand became unresponsive a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason. The stored positions and manual option to move is still showing up on the remote and on the TV but doesn’t respond when I select either. I have done the usual turn it off and back on but hasn’t had any affect. Has anyone had this issue and any ideas of what could be the problem?

    Thanks

Adding some counter balance… I used my existing BeoRemote One from my Eclipse and have been using with my BeoSound Theatre since October, and I cannot recall when I changed the batteries, at least a year maybe.  I don’t use alkaline but Energizer Ultimate Lithium.  My problem with my BR1 was the screen lifting off… had three different plastic control inserts sent direct from Denmark, arranged by Manchester B&O; assumed a dodgy batch.  Current remote is holding, but I do press it tight by the screen weekly, to ensure adhesion.

I’ve got no idea when it comes to technical stuff, I have the beo4  50″ with b&o motorised wall bracket and 7.2 centre speaker & the beosystem3, then I’ve the DVD, Overture 25, 8000, 6000 speakers and beo 2 sub, and the Humax Freesat, I also have the Lutron 4 zone light panelI that all work through the beo5 remote.

I was looking at getting the latest Oled 55″ TV/panel and mounting it to my motorized wall bracket and adapt it to my system to replace the beo 4 50″ but I can’t find anyone who can program/adapt it to my setup, and I refuse to pay 8k or so for the Eclipse and bin all my out of date (according to b&o) setup.

Just wondering would you know anyone who could configure an Oled panel/TV into what I have and with the beo5, a 55″ panel would fit perfect with the 7.2 speaker as a replacement of the beo 4 50″, I would pay any costs.

    Regards Graham

Talking about battery life, with my former eclipse the batteries would last about 5-6 months

With the theatre premuim batteries seem to last between 4 and 8 weeks!!

I am using 2xCores, A9, Stage and BeoSound 1 with TuneIn, but mostly AirPlay.  I did the migration since my TuneIn stations are mainly those that I can’t get easily in the US. So I have around 20 favorites and most of my stations ported over. A few that did not, I got recommendations and that worked fine for me. I use Beoremote Halo and Eclipse Remotes, along with the App for music and it works fine for me.

I suppose it depends on the devices one has. I do wish one could arrange the order of the stations. Looks like it is LIFO – last added get to the top of the list.

I have Beolab 11 connected to a Beosound Core using the Powerlink Adapter. I also have an Eclipse remote and it works well. The Beolab 600os are connected directly to the beolab 11.

Will it be worthwhile to trade in my Eclipse MK1 after 5yrs for a Contour. Assuming the Contour screen is the latest LG screen with no risk of burn-in after time? Does somebody know which type LG screen is in the Contour?

There will always be a risk for burn in, also on a LCD screen. The OLED are getting much better than they were, but there is still a risk, if you watch a lot of materiel with Logo.

I would recommend getting a Beosound Theater instead. It can be paired with all screens on the market, so if/when the tv breaks you can change it out for a new, but still keep the B&O part.

I would off cause recommend getting a LG OLED again, as you get the best connection that way.

    Hello all,

there is news on the panel topic

The display of my Eclipse has become a special waste with image sticking and cloud formation in the border area. This is very annoying, especially with red mixed colors.

The display is still available, but for the price I get a panel of the latest generation with currently 5 years warranty (LG).

Is it technically feasible to connect an LG TV via HDMI to the Soundcenter, so that the functions auto on and off, as well as the volume control via the TV remote control are given?

The gap between the center and the TV can be hidden well, that is the least evil.

Is it possible to configure the setup menu of the sound center via an IP address or with the B&O app if necessary?
This is now possible for example, with the I-Pad I get access to the setup menu with the IP address: 192.168.178.35

I would like to continue using the Soundcenter with a new panel if possible, an outdated one from B&O at an overpriced price is out of the question.
Also a new SetUp from B&O with LG panel, never again!
Not worth the money just because the panel is distributed by B&O.

Many greetings, have a nice day

All of a sudden the BV Eclipse Gen 1 is (sporadically) loosing the connection to the AppleTV 4K connected to Soundcenter, but its only the picture that disappear. The sound from the Soundcenter continue unaffected. The TV screen show message that there is no connection to HDMI.
I swapped the HDMI cable, and it was stable a few hours and then started again.

I have now connected the ATV directly to the TV Screen (HDMI 4) and everything works, including controlling the ATV with PUC.
It seems the connection between Soundcenter and TV screen is the problem, but only sporadically.

    • Has anyone experienced this?
    • Any actual drawbacks having the ATV 4K connected directly to the panel?

I have a mix of ML and NL in my home.  Mostly NL now (Balance, Essence Mk2, BS1, BS2, Eclipse) with an “island” of ML (BS9000, BS5 and BL3500).  I have a turntable connected to my Balances that I’d like to listen to on my ML devices.  I have the non-GVA Balances so, right now, they can distribute the TT audio to other NL sources.

I was going down the path of buying a 2nd hand Core or Essence Mk2 and connecting it to the Aux-in of the BS9000.  However, my BS9000 broke, and it’s difficult to get it repaired in the US (closest dealer is >300 miles away).  I’ve switch my BS5 over to be the audio master for the time being.  I don’t want to mess with the Aux-in on the BS5 and was reminded of the BLC.

From an installation perspective, I can easily plug my turntable into either the Balance or the BLC.  I also have the ML cable in place for a BLC as I used to own one, but it was taken out by a lightning strike.  I decided not to repair it because I wasn’t really using it at the time.  This was back when I had a local repair guy.

Long preamble, now to the questions:

    • If I go with the BLC, what will I miss over an Essence/Core?  Off the top of my head, I will not have Spotify available at the BS5/9000, nor Airplay or Chromecast except via a NL source.  Will Deezer distribute from a NL device to ML via the BLC?
    • If I go with the Core/Essence, what will I miss over the BLC?  Again, off the top of my head, I’ll lose a fully hard-wired connection between the TT and the ML network.  I will also not be able to listen to CDs or Radio (once the BS9000 is fixed) or N.Music on my NL devices.  However, I will gain Spotify, Airplay and Chromecast on ML, but I will have to fix my BS9000 (or mess with the BS5 aux-in kludge).
    • Is there a delay when playing ML audio sources on NL devices?  I recall there is a delay with the line-in on the BLC if you choose to distribute it.
    • Can anyone think of any other reasons why one solution would work better than the other?

    Thanks in advance.

    Exactly my thoughts too.
A BV11 definitely has the Mini-A/V port as shown……there is no other way to connect an analog source than this.

Please tell us more about your actual BV model.
Your picture seems to show the connection panel of the BV Eclipse
In that case just use the method that Guy referred too.

    P.S.
Netlink is here not involved – that would be another method (which would include two Beolink Converters), that probably is way too complicated for your purpose.
A simple connection cable and some fiddling with the volume setting etc is all you need.

Are you sure that’s a BV11, and not a later model such as Eclipse or BV14? I thought that all BV11s had the Mini-AV input.

If that 3.5mm socket is indeed a LINE IN and OPTICAL, then you should be able to use Steve’s cable that you linked to on 16 Jan. This will connect between the BC2300’s PL output and that LINE IN socket.

You will probably have to set up the LINE-IN socket in the TV’s connections menu. You will also probably have dual volume control (i.e both the TV and BC2300 will be able to adjust the volume). You will need to experiment with levels, starting at a medium volume setting for both.

Sorry for reply in English. I think Steve at Sounds Heavenly used to supply a cable to connect an aux output to the BV11’s Mini-AV socket. If this is still available (from Steve or B&O) then you could connect from the BC2300 AUX socket to the BV’s Mini AV. This would allow you to play the BC2300 through the TV’s speakers.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I just checked Steve’s website and found this cable.

Maybe I try this at first before buying expensive converters.

Not specifically Beogram 4000 related, but Multicare came and visited us last year to carry out a safety recall upgrade to our Beovision Eclipse and I got them to update our BL90s to the latest software version while they were there.

Excellent communication and service all round, so a thumbs-up from me.

They’ve also been very helpful in contacting B&O HQ regarding an issue I have on the B&O iPad app with the Lab 90 control, but this remains unresolved as yet.

Very interesting! As a BL50 owner I would like to know which streamer do you use (BL50/90 owners) to bypass Theater / Eclipse / Harmony ?

It was counter intuitive for me to introduce another DAC in the loop but it seems that a lot of people benefit from an analog connexion to BL50/90 ?

Does the BSCore do the same ? Or I guess you have to go for a high level streamer ?

thank you for your help ?

Just adding to my comments above. The real game changer for me with the Theatre (and why I’m smitten with it) is that from BV7-55 to Avant 65 to Eclipse 65, B&O was costing me probably a clear £2 to 2.5K per year in Beovision ownership. That is big cheddar. That is for technological issues, screen burn-ins, DVDs, ML then NL/ML then NL, now Mozart and the interconnectivity of everything else (speakers, sources etc…). Replacing the G2 screen – assuming all else stays the same every 5yrs cuts that cost to less than £400/year.

The Harmony is not going to be a cheap TV (even though the screen panel can be easily replaced) to make and sell.  Sure, there is £2-6k in LG C2/G2 panel but then another £15/17/40k in motorised mount depending on chosen screen. There may be a lot more margin for B&O in selling big-screen Harmony’s but I’d wager that there are 20 – 30 -50 Theatres leaving Struer right now for every Harmony built?

    Like Beoplay….volumes count.
