Hi,
I have a loft box with FM, DAB, TV and Satellite feeds combined and fed to a wall plate with FM, TV and Sat connectors. I the feed the TV and Sat signals to an Eclipse, no problem. I would like to feed the FM to a Beomaster 7000 and the DAB to a OneRemote, if I try and use the FM outlet I get no DAB signal, if I split the TV signal I get about a third of the available stations.
The wallplate is quite old so I replaced it with one with a DAB/FM Connector. Without a splitter both work well. If I add in a splitter to try and split the DAB and FM signals I get the following:
With only the FM cable connected it works fine,
if I add the DAB cable I lose some of the FM stations but get all the DAB.
I cannot seem to find a true quad wall plate, they all seem to need a second cable. So do I need a different type of splitter or am I trying to do something that cannot be done?
Thanks Paul
The Halo doesn’t yet have the television control (beyond volume) that it does with the Harmony/Eclipse (if thats what the question was directed at).
Good Day everyone, Lee and Keith
I have given this posting a degree of thought but have to admit a degree of ignorance to the working behind the scenes and the relationships with Sponsors, suppliers and B&O themselves. I’m also ignorant to the costs of a web-forum, hosting and development costs.
Shooting from the hip, here is my view-point: –
- The current forum is stale, has a limited number of niche Users and a very unappealing interface. There are too many sub-forums based on legacy site designs. Consolidate and simplify would be my first thought?
- There is or has been too much “control” or moderation on-site, based on keeping things civil – whereas in the other forums I regularly visit and participate in don’t seem to have that problem. There is too much onus on forum members “protecting” B&O operating revenues with keeping B&O secrecy. As far as I can determine, product releases are released unofficially either by Dealers/re-sellers, those with ties to B&O or B&O themselves. We are too quick to stifle “finds” on the Web, for the sake of upsetting B&O – when it is in fact it is in all in the public domain. Therefore a light hand or an even-lighter hand (let it rip) would be welcome. Stiffen-up buttercup.
- I perceive B&O doing very little to help this forum? My view is that Beoworld has long-served its purpose for B&O who I believe want to focus on HNWI’s rather than those of us who may tend towards the more to vintage and David-Lewis legacy era equipment. There may be a few “visits” or “previews” here and there given by B&O to some of the more enthusiastic members/moderators/Sponsors – either directly or indirectly but little that actually helps the site? Therefore like the so-called “Special relationship” between UK and US politicians, its not really Special and arguably not a relationship either? BeoWorld needs to decide where its position is?
- Manuals. Most legacy manuals are already out in the public domain (up to the Beolab5/7/9 era – I have not for instance seen the BL90 or Eclipse/Harmony manual out there??). I think/assume there is very little out there (B&O probably want more control of this now than premature product leaks?). I do not see this as a USP for paid membership tiers.
- Circle-back to point 1 again. I participate in a number of forums (B&O/Auralic/some watch forums/Wood-working and motorcar forums – where my hobbies/interest lie). I am also drifting more towards Mikipedias Discord B&O site (more on that in the next point). https://community.auralic.com/ and https://community.naimaudio.com/ are examples of Company-provided but not Company-controlled/dominated web forums. They are relatively fresh, clean and easy to search/reference. There is a very “light-touch” in terms of moderation and in-particular, the Auralic forum is very well behaved and sparsely populated with interactive Auralic employees.
- I assume there are costs to these sites like Auralic and Naim (there is very little advertising on these sites – if any) and either has a modest support by the OEM or use your data for a “free” web-site access. I would state here that web-forums today are so well-developed and extensive, that the prospect of preventing “you are the product” is well-past its sell-by date. Every data-miner in the world probably has multiple layers of intel on us all and out habits. With the advent of ChatGPT and other advanced algorithms, it is only a matter of time that these programs scan the entire interweb over multiple, separate and un-related forums and could therefore work-out our various aliases, interests, political leanings etc…etc…and know who we are. Therefore, I would dismiss “we are the product” argument as a constraint. Its going to happen one way or another.
- Discord is developing more and more as the future of chat forums. Mikipedia has develop his own excellent site (too many sub-forums for my taste, somewhat harder to reference info etc but quite dynamic and seems to have a much higher frequency of well-mannered regulars contributing than Beoworld). I don’t know how Mikipedia supports this Discord site (free, small annual fee, data-gathering) but he does, alone and it works very well. There is also a perception that his site leans more towards the “later-day” products and gossip rather than older legacy products. Either-way, he’s not charging £0/£15/£30 per annum membership fees for a growing and improving product over BeoWorld?
- Now I am fully aware that B&O is still a stuffy and undynamic and Conservative company. B&O have failed twice as far as I can recollect in its own Web-forum aspirations. I’m also aware they are now more interested in HNWI’s – now that us “Useful-Saps” have bailed them out (again) by buying countless discounted BeoPlay products that they can now once again neglect us (in a recession) and focus on the folly of chasing the dream of too-many-high-end-high-price products with a 30-minute shelf-life for the uninterested uber-rich and destroy their loyal buyer base (again)?? However, I do wonder if – there is a possibility for one-off support for BeoWorld by B&O to setup a new modern web-forum for BeoWorld to manage and tune to both B&O’s future pathway and BeoWorlds legacy stance? Im sure it’s a well trodden asking B&O path but I’m only asking?
- As per my earlier points, I’m against paid and tiered membership. Its not because of personal snobbery or affordability on my part but that (again my perception), is that this leads to a “tribal” take-over of the forum and ends up losing more regular contributors than it gains. I see Beoworld right now in this position and its withering-away.
- As a means to funding the site – I wonder – as a suggestion if it is possible/feasible for Beoworld to have an online shop? A shop that at one end can sell BeoWorld merch, but at the other (hopefully sponsored by B&O), selling a few BeoPlay-level products, with margins helping to support forum costs? This may not help the Dealers but not wont help BeoWorld and with Amazon, both stand to lose-out if you don’t?
- The prize-draw is nice but not essential. I viewed this as a way to generate membership fees with a draw-down of Lee’s stock (and business profitability) as a generous benefactor? I think streamlining the Web-forum this is not required – and to be frank, very few Web-forums offer anything like this (Fees or prizes). I think it is an unsustainable practice in numerous ways.
Anyway, this list is given as useful/not-useful feedback as an honest opinion that hopefully helps give the Owners of BeoWorld my perspective at least. Make of it what you will for what it is worth?
With regards and respect.

Liebes Forum,
Vielen Dank
Mathias
This morning when I tried to play an audio source on my Eclipse via the BLC NL/ML Converter to a Masterlink products nothing happened. When I checked all of the sources visible on ML had disappeared. Luckily I had saved a picture of the settings so it wasn’t difficult to reinstate. Anyone know what happened? Paul
My BV7 died on me. Not yet ready to go for a Harmony or Eclipse. So, I am looking into non-B&O televisions.
Is there any benefit going with an LG to connect my Beolabs? I read Sony allows to use the TV as center? Could I also somehow use my BLs as L/R and Sub?
I care most about a slim TV as I’d like to wallmount it. Any suggestions?
The LG C2 and the Sony 75×90 have drawn my attention.
Thanks for any advice!
I operate my BS 9000 integrated in the ML – NL network via BLC. I can join its music / sources on my Emerge, BS 2, Essence or BV Eclipse. It is working flawlessly and for the first two units it is working wirelessly. And it’s such a beautiful sight to see – I am never getting tired of its look on the wall and the smooth operation of its functions.
Kind regards,
Rolf
speak to your dealer I’d suggest.
B&O tend not to make big announcements of stuff going EOL.
Was there such an announcement for the Eclipse? You sure as hell cant order a new one, or havent been able to for a while.

Hi All,
I have a 1st Gen Beovision Eclipse with the plantetary motorised floor stand. The stand became unresponsive a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason. The stored positions and manual option to move is still showing up on the remote and on the TV but doesn’t respond when I select either. I have done the usual turn it off and back on but hasn’t had any affect. Has anyone had this issue and any ideas of what could be the problem?
Thanks
Adding some counter balance… I used my existing BeoRemote One from my Eclipse and have been using with my BeoSound Theatre since October, and I cannot recall when I changed the batteries, at least a year maybe. I don’t use alkaline but Energizer Ultimate Lithium. My problem with my BR1 was the screen lifting off… had three different plastic control inserts sent direct from Denmark, arranged by Manchester B&O; assumed a dodgy batch. Current remote is holding, but I do press it tight by the screen weekly, to ensure adhesion.
I’ve got no idea when it comes to technical stuff, I have the beo4 50″ with b&o motorised wall bracket and 7.2 centre speaker & the beosystem3, then I’ve the DVD, Overture 25, 8000, 6000 speakers and beo 2 sub, and the Humax Freesat, I also have the Lutron 4 zone light panelI that all work through the beo5 remote.
I was looking at getting the latest Oled 55″ TV/panel and mounting it to my motorized wall bracket and adapt it to my system to replace the beo 4 50″ but I can’t find anyone who can program/adapt it to my setup, and I refuse to pay 8k or so for the Eclipse and bin all my out of date (according to b&o) setup.
Just wondering would you know anyone who could configure an Oled panel/TV into what I have and with the beo5, a 55″ panel would fit perfect with the 7.2 speaker as a replacement of the beo 4 50″, I would pay any costs.
Regards Graham
Talking about battery life, with my former eclipse the batteries would last about 5-6 months
With the theatre premuim batteries seem to last between 4 and 8 weeks!!
I am using 2xCores, A9, Stage and BeoSound 1 with TuneIn, but mostly AirPlay. I did the migration since my TuneIn stations are mainly those that I can’t get easily in the US. So I have around 20 favorites and most of my stations ported over. A few that did not, I got recommendations and that worked fine for me. I use Beoremote Halo and Eclipse Remotes, along with the App for music and it works fine for me.
I suppose it depends on the devices one has. I do wish one could arrange the order of the stations. Looks like it is LIFO – last added get to the top of the list.
I have Beolab 11 connected to a Beosound Core using the Powerlink Adapter. I also have an Eclipse remote and it works well. The Beolab 600os are connected directly to the beolab 11.
Hello all,
there is news on the panel topic
The display of my Eclipse has become a special waste with image sticking and cloud formation in the border area. This is very annoying, especially with red mixed colors.
The display is still available, but for the price I get a panel of the latest generation with currently 5 years warranty (LG).
Is it technically feasible to connect an LG TV via HDMI to the Soundcenter, so that the functions auto on and off, as well as the volume control via the TV remote control are given?
The gap between the center and the TV can be hidden well, that is the least evil.
Is it possible to configure the setup menu of the sound center via an IP address or with the B&O app if necessary?
This is now possible for example, with the I-Pad I get access to the setup menu with the IP address: 192.168.178.35
I would like to continue using the Soundcenter with a new panel if possible, an outdated one from B&O at an overpriced price is out of the question.
Also a new SetUp from B&O with LG panel, never again!
Not worth the money just because the panel is distributed by B&O.
Many greetings, have a nice day
Ingo

Ingo
All of a sudden the BV Eclipse Gen 1 is (sporadically) loosing the connection to the AppleTV 4K connected to Soundcenter, but its only the picture that disappear. The sound from the Soundcenter continue unaffected. The TV screen show message that there is no connection to HDMI.
I swapped the HDMI cable, and it was stable a few hours and then started again.
I have now connected the ATV directly to the TV Screen (HDMI 4) and everything works, including controlling the ATV with PUC.
It seems the connection between Soundcenter and TV screen is the problem, but only sporadically.
- Has anyone experienced this?
- Any actual drawbacks having the ATV 4K connected directly to the panel?
