    Hi Matador,

Ha ha, yes you are right – its a Sony!  No wonder I couldn’t get the colours to match up in the video footage they sent to me!

I will stick to my Canon cameras, they haven’t let me down yet 😉

    Kind regards, Steve.

    Hi Matador,

Well spotted!  That was actually a spare camera belonging to one of the Noto team, they were taking extra photos and video footage through the day while I was interviewing them.  You are quite correct, I would never start an interview with that level of battery life remaining!  I always shoot on Canon by the way, that looks like a Nikon…

    Have a great new year!

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: What are the speakers, b&O lovers use? #13073

    Happy Christmas Beofans!

as Stereomensch said, I use Penta 3s in my workshop, along with Beolab 3000 as rear speakers. In my bedroom I have a pair of Emerges, which are linked to the Beosystem 3500 in my living room.

The living room speakers are currently non-B&O, thy are heavily modified Dali Oberon 5 linked to the 3500 system, while I decide which Beolab or Beovox speakers should replace them…

    Kind regards Steve

    Thanks,

That is an interesting point, I hadn’t spotted that before.

We will be focusing on Beolab 90 next week, with a deep dive into the design of this amazing speaker…

    Kind regards Steve.

Hi, I’m sorry but I don’t think this will work as each Receiver 1 outputs mono sound to both audio channels from what I remember.

The best option is to cable the speakers to the Theatre if you can as there are currently issues when using Receiver 1 with the Theatre.

    Kind regards Steve.

    Hi Beoworlders,

It is time to find out what the future holds for Bang & Olufsen speaker design! In my new video, Noto Design explain how a 1970’s design icon has guided their work on modern B&O products…

    Kind regards, Steve.

    Hi Jon,

    welcome back to BeoWorld!

Theatre I superb, if you have the chance to hear it then I think you will love it!

please plug the Beogram in using a cable (via the pre amp), don’t try to connect it wirelessly-this is complex, expensive and will give poor results.

Theatre also wins over the 18s here (as well as in sound quality), as you can plug in the pre amp directly, without needing a Beomaster/Beosound to control the volume.

please feel free to use my sponsor link below if you need any help with cables!

    kind regards Steve

in reply to: New product launch – beosound theatre? #10565

    Hi Mark,

I think the issue with the rear speakers may be due to them being connected wirelessly.  If you want to try a wired connection to the 17s to see if that improves things, please let me know and I can loan you some cables on a sale-or-return basis to try out without obligation.

I don’t think the Apple USB adapter will work but I do have the correct adapters available if you need one: https://soundsheavenly.com/tv-misc/191-usb-c-audio-input-adapter-for-beosound-theatre-ref-6271374.html

    Kind regards, Steve.

    in reply to: connectivity #10559

    Hi Ingvar,

Yes, this will all work, you can use Powerlink cables and splitters to link as many Beolab speakers as you wish to the Essence – please bear in mind that will only get stereo sound through all speakers.

Beolab 14 subwoofer gives better bass than Beolab 11, so you won’t need the Beolab 11 once the Beolab 14 is connected.  Please click on my sponsor link at the foot of the page if you need any help with cables to get everything connected!

    Kind regards, Steve.

    Hello Beitie,

Welcome back! I would suggest contacting Keith (keith@beoworld.org or via PM on the site) as that should be the easiest way to confirm any unclaimed Beoworld prizes.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: The best choice for your first B&O speaker? #10013

    Hi pepps,

That is great to hear! I grew up with a 1970s Beocenter 3300 which I spent months repairing, I was amazed by the power of that system.  Looking back, there are two systems that I wish I had been able to buy when they were released: one was the Century, which I later owned (lovely lighting as with the BS2500!) and more recently the Beosound 1.  That was why I thought it could be interesting to feature in the video as it is often forgotten but it is a superb first system for anyone wanting to try out B&O on a budget.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: The best choice for your first B&O speaker? #9990

    Good choice!

There are some great speakers out there.  for this video, I tried to look for one that would work for everyone, old or young, for existing CD collections or for online streaming, plus one that is underrated and forgotten about…

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: New product launch – beosound theatre? #9980

    Hi,

Don’t worry, John has been very busy from what I gather speaking to him recently.  I know his Theatres were delayed in transit but they have now arrived, I am sure he won’t mind me sharing this picture that he sent to me recently:-

    Manchester Theatre 2

Producing YouTube videos is very, very time consuming, but I am sure that John will have a superlative Beosound Theatre video coming when he gets the chance!

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: New product launch – beosound theatre? #9977

    Hi,
Yes, you can add ANY speakers, but passive Beovox speakers will require a power amp such as BeoAmp2 in order to connect to the Theatre. I don’t recommend using Passive or MCL2P as there are issues with correctly triggering these amps from newer B&O products with RJ45 outputs. The Theatre will be able to carry out room compensation with any passive speakers connected via any type of power amp, but it won’t have the acoustic profile of the speakers stored for magnitude and phase correction (unless you are using Beovox 1 or 2 speakers).

    Kind regards, Steve.
