Lossless arrived on our Spotify Family account today.

I had to reboot the Theatre to enable it to switch to Lossless. The A5 switched to Lossless immediately though the battery was flat so it might have triggered that as a reboot.

I did a bit of testing with the lounge Theatre as the source and noticed that if I added the kitchen Beosound 35 via Beolink Spotify seemed to indicate that both speakers were lossless. Also the Beosound 35 showed the source as Spotify Connect instead of just Spotify. If I used the dining Beosound 2 (non Mozart) as the source it didn’t show as lossless (which was expected) and the linked kitchen Beosound 35 just displayed Spotify.

The Beosound 35 displays the source as Spotify Connect when attached to a Mozart source and Spotify if an ASE source is used. Anyway I might be overthinking this.

As suggested I have also logged a service request that lossless be made available to ASE products too.

We’re on the 6.44 train to Struer. Thought we’d get there a little earlier so we can have a look around town.

Hoping the weather is kind to us when we get there.

    Hi Jakes

We had a similar issue when looking at upgrading our BV10.

We took the Theatre route as at the time it integrated with the other speakers we have without the need of extra boxes etc. We have BL5’s and BL8000’s attached to the Theatre which works extremely well. We have the Theatre and Tv mounted on a BV 7 double pole stand as we prefer the look. The motor on the stand doesn’t function but we didn’t use the motorised stand that much before anyway. The tv is 55”.

I suppose you need to think about what you want to achieve. Full integration like you have now or a bit of making do with a few less functions? What do you watch on Tv? Is it free to air, DVD’s or streaming? Do you listen to music etc? CD’s, Spotify etc? Do you listen in other rooms too?

There’s endless possibilities but I suppose it’s a matter of getting it working seamlessly and playing well together.

We get dropouts and all speakers are wired with the exception of the A5. It’s not constant but it’s there. The Beosound 2 is probably the worst. Sometimes I do a reboot on the BS 2 and it’s fine for a while.

    Spotify is fine.

Just checked. If I press CD it activates Spotify. Same as using Shift CD

Found a Beo 4 with DTV and tried the Shift CD command. It didn’t join what was playing instead started up Spotify

Yes they are older Beo4’s. None have a DTV button. They do have a DVD button though.

Not good. Bet there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth by the technician?

I have a BV10 that you could have for a reasonable price. That way everything should work as it did previously (hopefully….)

I did eventually manage to get the widgets renamed but can’t be sure how I did it.
I think I removed a speaker from the acount and then renamed the other remaining one. I then re-added the speaker that I had removed.

I thing I’ve noticed is that the Theatre doesn’t seem to have a logo as yet.

I notice that the song info on the stations no longer shows on our Beosound35. The song info shows on the Halo but not the BS 35. A bit annoying as it had just started again on TuneIn.

Not sure about the alarm function either as the BS35 is defaulting to a chime instead of the TuneIn station selected. There is no option for B&O radio as a source. I’ve tried deleting the alarm and redoing it but this didn’t work. I’ll have to try a different speaker and see if it does the same.

My Theatre has now decided to not work. The light at the front is flashing white.

Was trying to operate a product via HDMI when the problems began. Have powered the Theatre off several times. It works for a short time and then no response. Have tried reboot and eventually factory reset. Still the same.

    Any thoughts?

I thought it was just me taking about seven hours over two nights to instal. That included running cables in the roof as well. I also had the added challenge of mounting the Theatre on a BV7 stand using a STB bracket. Not a lot of room for wires. I do wish B&O would plan for wires and leave a bit more space. With a full compliment of HDMI cables plus powerlink and Ethernet there’s a lot going on.

That said I’m stoked with the Theatre and G2 panel. Sound is staggering even on its own. A massive step up from a BV10

    Thanks Guy for the info.

I attempted to use an existing IR lead and convert to RJ45. That didn’t go well.

    Have ordered the adapter.

Give Rob or Jonathan at call at Premium Sound at St Kilda Road. They’re authorised dealers and they know their stuff – especially the ‘older’ gear.

They’ll be able to help you out
