Hi all,
the left branch of the diagram would in principal be the functionality of the Beolink PC2 device?
It wouldbe interesting to have a generic driver for the BL PC2 to run it on Linux Systems
Best regards
Hello, this is indeed an interesting project! In my opinion these features were and are still desirable.
I have a question, also to all the others. I remember the DataLink protocol is well documented, also the control via IR. But I never found a similar description of the Masterlink protocol. I know about many attempts in the older forum threads and open source code (eg for arduino) many years ago, but I am not sure whether it is well specified or verified working. Maybe I did just not found it?
Beohacker, or did you reverse engineer it? If yes, can it be shared?
Thanks and best regards
Hello,
you said, reset the CMOS, did you check whether the battery has the correct 3V voltage?
I had one where I thought as well the mainboard might be dead but it was just an old battery
In case of mainboard, it might be interesting whether similar VIA EPIA mainboards could be used as well. meanwhile they got more and more expensive
Best regards
This is a really great job, also the BeoV5, which you posted already 2 years ago. I like these ideas and posts about them here in this forum!

I wish you good luck, maybe you can convince anybody to stay in the cafe or you might get free spots on a Wartelist. Otherwise we have to go on collecting things and setting up proper museums at home and share them in the Flash-your-B&O thread!

Haha 🙂
I remember the ancient thread in the old forum where I wished to have the opportunity to be sometimes part of such a delegation of Beoworld forum members. I was also impressed by your travel by bike 🙂
Hello HenW, all,
I can also recommend creating a new HDD from scratch. In one of the threads of above mentioned forum there is a link to download the SW for creating an USB stick. It is then to be attached to the BM 5. While startup it must be sure to boot from the stick. there you not only can clone the HDDs but also create a new one. I did this and have seen a little bit „rough“ BS5 system, but after fetching the updates all was fine. Best way is to perform this with an extra HDD and keep the original as a safe backup…
To your questions, the MB should be small and be the boot partition. It has to be set to bootable partition.
I also tried the recovery, once, working also fine. It may also be needed to perform a SW update. While recovery, the system partition is refreshed from that. I believe, data is not touched.
Best regards
That is a great spot in the first picture, I assume these are the Beovox S45 but the (83-86) or the S50?
buy a Oled tv. Not Samsung qled. I have a LG C9 65” mounted on a Beovision stand. very happy with it. don’t mind the cabeling in the picture.
Hi Leosgonewild, just for curiosity, how did you integrate the Beolab 7-4 and -5‘s? And, is it stereo or kind of 2.1? I tried Beosystem 3 (with optical2cinch digital conversion) which made problems (but only in one case) while decoding and then ended up with the playmaker accepting Stereo Sound. Best way was to use HDMI inputs at the Beosystem 3
(I would indeed agree on the Theatre but I am not yet convinced by its design, still adoring the compact look of my Beovision 7-40. The stand of the Theatre is too bulky)
Hi XavierItzmann, that is a great idea! I was also very fond of the A3 and I can report that it still runs with an Ipad 3, (the latest one with 30pin connectir) with Spotify app. Also youtube, however, not via app, which stalls but then changes to the browser which is able to run the youtube website content, but yes, it became now very slow. An upgrade to a newer one is a good idea if one wants to keep the A3 device. I use it as handsome looking charger to stream audio via bluetooth.
ps/edit ah now I see trackbeo‘s report on spotify as well 🙂
Hi all,
here is a link to a thread on the old forum, where Beolab 7 are discussed (from member Ravsted):
https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/49897.aspx?PageIndex=1
By the way, great work to all, looks very good!
That is unbelievable, many thanks for for all of this! And congratulations to all the other winners!
Danke vielmals, das war genau wonach ich suchte!
So far all is said already what I could add here, but explicitely I want as well say „many thanks“ to Lee and Keith for the effort to keep the forum and Beoworld up and running! But also to the moderators and all the people here for the posts, information, and providing fun to read through the threads. I did create my account in 2008 when I started collecting and repairing things. From beginning on I recognized here a really enthusiastic, nice and authentic community. I was also active in an automobile forum, but the spirit here (also to other hifi forums) is much more relaxed, kind and funny. I did perform the upgrade because of the schematics and to support the effort. I did not hope to win anything, so it was really a pleasure to win double in one price draw – again, many thanks 🙂
To come back, I would also as many others propose a slight increase of the Gold fee and then rather to skip one price draw. BTW: Facebook groups are no option for me 🙂
Maybe it is too late and the Playmaker is sent back, but did you check whether maybe PM and TV have the same IP adress? Best regards
Many thanks for the reply! Yes, I have seen that, I will give it a try.
Hello Johan, that looks impressive, it is nice to see classic components integrated again! I like laundry room and garage and not to forget the bottle opener 🙂
Have you planned to feed your living room TV with 4k input and in case yes, how do you then connect the BS3 to have the 7.1 sound? Best regards!
18 February 2023 at 18:22 in reply to: Was taugen die Beolits?
Hello Roland,
did you check whether the CMOS battery is still fresh, it should measure 3V?
I had that, resulting in a failing startup. After exchange it did run again.
The link to the beo5 tool could be found in the old (the 2nd archived) forum. maybe a suspicous link(??). but downloadable image without suspicous software inside, actually the binary image to be flashed onto a usb stick
good luck and best regards
That is a great constructional work, good looking as well!
