The control of LG TV is done through an ethernet connection and a special protocol. Here it’ll be through the HDMI cable using the CEC protocol, which will be more limited and can be flaky on some TVs
3 April 2024 at 20:40 #53514I’m looking forward to your first impressions!
Dealer received his stock and shipped my Core to me today ?
3 April 2024 at 20:55 #53515I wonder about the app interface of the new Core. Apparently, the Beolab 18s (for example) show up in the app (they don’t show up with the old Core). But is there an advantage because of this?
5 April 2024 at 21:01 #53516Received my BCC today. Connected my 1s to it and am very happy with it. Have been able to play my BS3000 and BS5 through it via a converter. To my ears, the 1s sound better. The imaging is better and they now seem to disappear in the way I have noticed newer BLs to.
5 April 2024 at 23:58 #53517Good to hear your fun with new gear!
8 April 2024 at 21:54 #53518NEVER MIND: I read through the manual, and it is only Beosonic unless you have a Shape.
Hi Razlaw,
Does the Core Connected have any advanced sound settings beyond the “Beosonic” equalizer? I just noticed in the latest BeoApp release there are some new advanced sound settings for my Balances and curious if these are Mozart settings or specific to Balance settings.
Thanks
9 April 2024 at 19:52 #53519I have connected it via powerlink to a Beolab 2 and from it to a pair of Beolab 8000. I can then stream music. However it does not work to connect it to my Sony Bravia TV.
9 April 2024 at 21:42 #53520From the user guide:
“Note: You might need to configure your TV to send out stereo sound (PCM) only. Beoconnect Core cannot decode surround sound formats, such as Dolby Atmos, which are the default on some televisions.”Most TVs are not set to PCM as default. You may need to dig around in your TV’s audio menus to find how to set it to PCM instead of the default.
9 April 2024 at 21:53 #53521Ok, that sounds like a very good idea. I will see if I can do this. Thank you for the suggestion.
3 May 2024 at 15:39 #32894I have to close up again here:
is the new device capable to transmit surround signals via WiSA? Please excuse me if that was already stated anywhere
Further question, could Beolab Transmitter 1, having a toslink input, fulfill the role to transmit surround signals to many WISA speakers, even if the TV is a non-Beovision?
Best regards
3 May 2024 at 23:17 #32949No, the BCC does not have WISA capability.
18 July 2024 at 11:20 #57488hi everyone, I still haven’t seen if the BeoConnect Core is better than a core for just sound? set to beolab 18 and 19 and does “Mozart-based” mean something? and lastly, I can’t find out whether cables or a transmitter give the best sound, some say the bass can’t be controlled by cables? Thanks in advance for all your advice Freddy Denmark
18 July 2024 at 15:30 #57495I’m by no means an expert so someone who is by all means correct me, but I have asked very similar things in the past and based on those replies my understanding is that in terms of basic sound quality there ought not to be any difference. The BCC has a more modern bluetooth and I think Mozart is just their most modern streaming and web interface platform giving you more features and flexibility via the app (such as the ability to tailor the EQ). I’d be interested to know what, if anything else. Both the BCC and the BSC are for streaming to. Neither can connect wirelessly to speakers on its own. In both cases for that you’d need the Transmitter 1. The T1 has a mode for 2.1 WISA speakers wherein it will manage the crossover between BL 18s and 19, as I understand it, leaving you only to set the sub level and distance/phase. Whereas if you connect the BCC or the BSC via PowerLink you can daisy-chain B*C to one BL18 to the other BL18 to the BL19, but there is no crossover filtering meaning that the BL18s will output their full range in addition to the 19 outputting the bass. That overlap may make setting it up satisfactorily more difficult. Also it means that you lose one of the benefits of using a sub which is to alleviate your speakers of producing bass which should aid their performance and increase overall headroom before ABL or other protections kick in.As to whether it sounds better via WISA or PL, I’ll let someone else comment as I’ve not yet heard either.I have my 18s running via optical. I’d be interested in any experiences of WISA vs optical.Perhaps someone could also confirm my understanding that you can’t connect up 18s via optical and then run a power link off of one to a 19?hi everyone, I still haven’t seen if the BeoConnect Core is better than a core for just sound? set to beolab 18 and 19 and does “Mozart-based” mean something? and lastly, I can’t find out whether cables or a transmitter give the best sound, some say the bass can’t be controlled by cables?
