Hi Johan,

Thanks for your help so far. It seems the (new) digital converter from toslink to S/P dif is defect. If I connect a Beogram CD 7000 to the S/P dif input via Coax on the BS3 AV2, I have sound. Apple TV Toslink output via a converter to S/F dif input on the BS3 also produces no sound.

I reported the defect converter to the online store and am requesting an exchange for a slightly better converter.

So far I’m very happy with the sound. BS3 seems better than the surround amplifier in the Horizon 40. Can also be that the improvement in picture and picture size gives in total an upgraded impression.

I will post again if I get it solved. So far I think the BS3 is all oke. Regards, Edwin

Thanks Johan, I checked that the Customer Service Menu but very little can be changed there. Monitor is on auto detect and sees there is an LG monitor. Not the type of course because its far to new. Project states BV9 but that is just a name I guees. This evening I will try the right Dolby settings on the LG and BS3 to see if I can get the digital audio working so that I can see 4K also and not only full HD. All video sources ar now conneceted to the BS3.

I Changed fron BL8000’s to Penta’s in the front with BL 2 sub and BL6000 in the rear. I prefer the Penta’s more than the BL8000’s. For looks the 8000’s are better of course.

Nice setup. I’m Also thinking of Buying an LG TV. I Bought a beosystem 3 long ago but never tested it. It has a lose kabel hanging out and when I ask cloud this was a connector to a Beovision 9. They type is 9600. So this one was part of a Beovision 9. I Try to power it up with a PC screen connecteted via DVi 1 to HDMI of via VGA but no picture. I need an IR-eye I supose. Has that to go to the IR-in minijack connector? Or to the 9-pin sub-D connector. If so what is de pin configuration of this connector? Do I miss out a power switch somewhere?

I have it working agian. I let it dry inside and now it works again. I put some kit between at the top op the back cover when reassemble it again. I think there the moisture came in. Just put it outside now and see if it keeps working.

Hi Marcel,

Beomaster 5 is still running on Windows XP and has a HDD. In the archive there are how to’s to replace the HDD with a SSD. Price is not dropping much over the years so you can always sell it if you are not happy with it. Spotify connect is not working anymore. Soilutions with a Behringer usb audio soundcard and eg Chromecast audio

Probebly the battery is dead. Replacement can be found on Internet. I did change one in my Beoplay A2. Not that hard to do.  A videohow to do that can be found on Youtube.

Addition: The battery pack for a Beolit 12 is not available anymore.

If you are thinking to go for a Beoplay A1 I would take the Beoplay A2. The sound of the A2 is far better. (Beoplay A2 not can not be bought new anymore).

Hi Griebel, as the BM5 is just a XP PC may try to connect an PC screen to the BM5. I think its DVI connection but follow the cabling from the BS5 and you will find the connector. A harddisk failure could also be the problem. On the old forum fixes for replacement of the HD are documentend. Kind regards, Edwin
