I have a Beosystem 3 from a Beovision 9 type 9600 item 8150010. I got it partly working with my new LG G9 only the digital sound is still a problem.

Is there a way to reset the BS3 to clear the monitor information from the BV9. Under display connection 1 (DVI 1) it sees that an LG monitor is connected.

The Reset when going to the system menu with Menu 0 0 Go dit not clear monitor information. Selecting Configuration stays empty.

Hi ethuijs, maybe explore the customer service menu?

    ‘Access to Customer Service Menu:

Press the MENU button on Beo4 to get into the “Set-up Menu”.

Place the cursor on ´OPTION´. Press the RED button and within 3 seconds press GO.

When you leave the service menu (ordinary menu operation), the unit returns to

    its normal state.’

In there: ‘MONITOR AUTO DETECT can be enabled/disabled’.

Maybe this can help you further?

    Keep us posted. Regards,

Hello again ethuijs, I checked those pages too in the menu of my BS3 and they look the same. As I have mine running with a (C9) LG oled for some years now, I trust there is no issue in there.

You write that the sound is an issue? I use the optical out of the TV, turn it into S/PDIF coaxial with a little converter, and feed that in one of the AV ports. See also this thread: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beosystem-3-mk1-no-sound-via-s-pdif-av5-with-lg-tv/.

Thanks Johan, I checked that the Customer Service Menu but very little can be changed there. Monitor is on auto detect and sees there is an LG monitor. Not the type of course because its far to new. Project states BV9 but that is just a name I guees. This evening I will try the right Dolby settings on the LG and BS3 to see if I can get the digital audio working so that I can see 4K also and not only full HD. All video sources ar now conneceted to the BS3.

    Kind regards, Edwin

Hi Edwin, I do indeed let the LG handle the AppleTV 4K input directly, and use the BS3 for managing the audio (surround with BL8000s, BL6000s, a BL7-1 and a BL2).

    Hi Johan,

Thanks for your help so far. It seems the (new) digital converter from toslink to S/P dif is defect. If I connect a Beogram CD 7000 to the S/P dif input via Coax on the BS3 AV2, I have sound. Apple TV Toslink output via a converter to S/F dif input on the BS3 also produces no sound.

I reported the defect converter to the online store and am requesting an exchange for a slightly better converter.

So far I’m very happy with the sound. BS3 seems better than the surround amplifier in the Horizon 40. Can also be that the improvement in picture and picture size gives in total an upgraded impression.

I will post again if I get it solved. So far I think the BS3 is all oke. Regards, Edwin

Beosystem 3 from Beovision 9 still thinks monitor from BV9 is connected  –> SOLVED now a LG G5 as screen. That is a super combi.

Digital audio was not working due to a defect of a (new bought) Toslink to Coax digital audio converter. Now with a (new) Goobay Toslink to Coax digital audio converter al works fine. The problem with te digital audio made me think the BS3 still works for a BV9 as the servicecounters from the BV9 seemed to be there still and projectname BV9 was may be in the way for audio to work. Audio from Spotify seems also better than with the surround amplifier from the Beovision Horizon. There I used a chromecast audio to audio in. Still a digital to analog conversion extra in the line. Thanks Johan for the support and the send links how to connect. My LG is also connected tot AV2 HDMI B and Sound set to SP Diff Coax in.
