    Hello Beoworlders,

The belt of the arm carriage of my Beogram 6006 (type 5625, 1984, with linear motor) was broken and I replaced it.

Unfortunately, the detection arm was damaged during the disassembly  and I had to fix it by gluing the plastic holder where the arm is screwed on the carriage.

I managed to have it horizontal.

Now, when I play a record, the carriage moves to the beginning of the record (it also makes a complete cycle with speed change if no record is present) and the stylus descends. So it seems that the detection system is OK.

But when the disc reading starts, the arm does not move and the stylus jumps as if with a scratched disc (see attached video). Same problem if I move the arm in the middle of the record.

What could it be and what can I check?

    Thanks by advance,

    Yann.

Just FYI 7.01 is already being tested and fixes a lot of other problems.  Hopefully it addresses these issues as well

    Unfortunately not (version 7.0.1.250820368)

    Hi,

As a silver member, so you have access to the manuals available in the “products” section of the website.

If the manual is missing, I suggest that you ask for it in a post in the “Welcome” topic.

This topic is monitored by the administrator of the site.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Mark,

Until now, I had  the “latest activity” tab stored in a favorite on my browser (MS Edge).

Since a few days, this favorite does not work anymore.

First: the general forum URL seems to have changed to Home Page Version 2 – BeoWorld Forum and the “latest activity” tab does not have it’s own URL.

Second: This message is shown on the page : Failed to load plugin url: https://forum.beoworld.org/wp-content/plugins/mcare-plugin/plugin/js/custom-inline-image.js

    Just to let you know.

    Kind regards,

    Yann.

    Hi,

The blinking red LED usually means that the PIN code has to be entered.

You may do this using the Aux input.

But you will need 2 things:

    • an external RIAA pre-amp in order to adapt the output level of the Dual to the imput level of the Beosound,
    • if the turntable is equipped with RCA/Cinch connectors, a RCA to DIN adapter.

All this can be found at Sound Heavenly, co-sponsor of Beoworld (look at the bottom of the page):

    Good evening Jens,

My technical knowledge stops here and I can’t help you more on this aspect of the problem.

    On the theoretical side:

    • Reel tapes have 4 tracks. A set of 2 tracks is used to record/playback stereo signals.
    • When the end of the tape is reached, you swap the reels and the other set of tracks is used.
    • If you push one button only, the signal of the selected track is sent to the 2 outputs. It is double-mono, not stereo.

Page 5 of the user guide supplied previous explains the role of each combination of the buttons.

    Hi,

Your alcohol should make the job.

On your picture, the left head is the erasing one. The right one is the play/record one.

Clean both with cotton swabs lightly soaked in alcohol

These heads, manufactured by Bogen are known to be fragile and prone to failure.

I had the same problem with a Beocord 2000 and unfortunately couldn’t solve the fault.

    Hi,

If it can help you, the user guide of Beocord 2000 is attached hereunder. It’s a different model but you could find useful informations.

Also an audio file for channel identification for further testing.

My guess is the the recorder processes the signal correctly on the electronic side (that’s why VU-meters move while recording).

So the problem is (IMHO) sits in the magnetic heads, which are old and could have failed with time.

You may carefully clean them (use Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol).

I hope this will solve your problem.

    Hi Mark,

Sorry to insist, but the “topics freshness” page really misses me:

1 – The presentation of the page was compact, so more posts on the list

2- Clicking on the last post time shown at the extreme-right of a topic’s line leads to this post’s page.

On the tab view it leads to the 1st post ot the topic, so one has to navigate to the last page to see the last posts. Far less handy.

    Thanks to let me know,

    Yann.

    Hello Mark,

    2 issues:

1 – The post hereunder from profime “Online Betting”. Real or spam?

2 – The “Topics freshness page” shows error 404 : Page not found – BeoWorld Forum
