YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHi Lee, Keith and all Beoworlders,
First of all, a million thank-you to Lee and Keith who struggle to keep Beoworld running. Please accept the testimony of all my gratitude for the invaluable work you have been doing for so many years.
When I joined in 2007, I was really happy to find a website dedicated to one of my passions.
Even more, I found here an inexhaustible source of knowledge and very pleasant dialogues shared worldwide.
Finally, while the level of so many forums approach that of the sewer, I have always found interesting and “civilized” people here. Voices sometimes rise, but always with respect for others and without personal offenses.
Perhaps a side-effect of our common passion.
So gold membership was an evidence… and prize draw the icing on the cake!!
Time has passed and things are getting tougher for most of us. I perfectly understand why change is bound to come.
So, I will also keep my membership as a contribution to the community.
One or 2 prize draws per year would be ok for me.
If Beoworld can find some sponsors, why not as long as the site keeps it’s freedom.
Long life to Beoworld!
And thanks again to Lee and Keith.
Yann.

The latest post appeared directly under the question. However I had so many complaints that people apparently could not find the last post that I changed to it to what we have today. It was for that reason I implemented the up an down arrows to get to the top and bottom of the current page. I feel I am in a no win situation with this one!!

I access to the last post of a thread by clicking on the time mentioned on the top-right of the thread’s name.
Fast and easy!

Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberThe BS3 has no SPDIF out like the BV9.
Robin,
BV9 has no SPDIF out. This TV is in fact a Beosystem 3 packed with a plasma screen and a center loudspeaker.
If you refer to my schemes, the digital connection to BV9/AV2 is used to send the multichannel signal of Beocenter 2 to the internal processor of BS3 for DVD playback.
You could make a test without the SPDIF connection to AV5 and have a single connection between Node and BL5:
- Selecting AV5 on BS3 in order to control Volume with your remote,
- Direct SPDIF connection from Node to BL5 to feed it with the digital signal.
Kind regards,
Yann
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHi,
You maybe can keep some integration.
I have a BS3-based BV9 (European version with scarts) and a BC2 (equiped of a coaxial SPDIF output) connected to BL5s.
My products are connected to AV2 and BL5 as per the Blue/Red arrows.
You maybe could connect your streamer as per the Green/Orange arrows) on AV5 and affect this input to an auxiliary source of your BS3.
My guess is that BL5 prioritize the coaxial input for signal processing and that the PL are used for volume control.
Just my 2 cents if it may help.

I totally agree with you.
Infuse plays on an Apple TV 4k all my SD/HD movies saved in a QNAP NAS.
Beautiful interface and good recognition of titles for film profiles creation, event for “confidential” movies or serials.

Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberWhy not having an always-on clock (eg Beocom 5) turning to remote menu when someones aproachs?
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHi everyone, A link to the Theatre’s Technical Sound Guide v.1 is now available at https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/4955893911569
Thank you Geoff, great reading.
Kind regards,
Yann.
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberThanks Donot,
Yes, I checked the cables and no, I didn’t change anything in the menu.
The red light is solid. It only blinks if I touch the tactile zone.
I performed the hard reset: the red light blinked as long as I touch the tactile zone. After a moment, it stopped blinking.
Then performed a power-cycle.
Nothing changed.
I come to the conclusion that the Lab5 is faulty and my question about the repair process makes sense.
Can anybody confirm, or inform, that chassis have now to be sent to Struer for repair (with no indication of delay…)?
Kind regards,
Yann.
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yesterday I watched TV at normal level, the failure occured today when I switched-on the TV.
Nothing happpens when I do a room calibration.
Yann?
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberI doubt Harmony will get such a deep upgrade in the future.
My feeling is that Beovisions are over and Theater is the way found by B&O to externalize all concerns about video processing in a technology which moves too fast for their industrial and financial capabilities.
I’m not happy with that but it’s a sensible move.
Regards,
Yann.

Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHi,
Main loudspeakers are Beolab 5 completed by Beolab 8000 for surround.
Beolab 6000 in the main bedroom, 2500 in the study and Beovox 4500 (thanks Botty) in a secondary bedroom.
And Beolab 3500 in the kitchen.

Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberMy Eclipse now has B&O Radio working and available from both the App and Beoremote. Just had an update to the app which seemed to make it work. Paul
Paul,
Which generation is your Eclipse?
I have a Gen 1 one (software version is the last one) and still nothing.
Yann.
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberYou are right Millemissen,
B&O Radio appears in the BR1 for Core and BS1 without action from myself.
Unfortunately, the Eclipse misses.
Yann.
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberHello Beoworlders!
Did it too and found the same discrepancies in the naming of radio stations between TuneIn and B&O.
The migration was succesful on my BS1 and Core.
But favorites are duplicate on the list, as if each device adds it’s own favorites to the app’s list.
The B&O radio source is listed in my Gen 1 Eclipse, but I cannot add it to the BR1.
When searching in the “sources” settings of the TV, I see that B&O Radio misses the option to chose the list in which add it (TV or Music).
And when I use the app with the TV as player, I have too the message stating that the action is not available in the product.
Millemissen, how did you add B&O radio on your BR1?
Have a nice sunday,
Yann.
Location: Brittany, FranceMy B&O Icons: YannChrisFOUNDER MemberThis one was used by my father for demos (he was a B&O dealer in the 70’s). Below all the faces, including tracklists.
Thank you YannChris. I really love this stylus tip graphics. The record as it, as un object is a beautiful thing. Did you try it?
Yes, I use the technical side from time to time to check the health of my BG6006 and stylus.
