Keith, Lee, Dillen, Guy, Matador, Steve (and all others rowing the Beoworld boat), thanks a lot for doing so. The forum is addictive to me! Already for years. And though I am not fixing BeoGrams or finetuning Theatres, I really enjoy checking in with almost all threads every day. I was sad when it was down for some time, ha. My Masterlink system would not be working so nicely without information and help provided through Beoworld. And where I could, I hope to have helped some others with some tips, which can be satisfying, especially when it helps. My Gold membership is here to stay for now, irrespective of the number of prize draws. And also if the price needs to go up a bit from the VERY friendly 30 pounds. I know there is no other comparison but for me, in hours of entertainment per pound, Beoworld beats Netflix easily. All the best, Johan.
Location: NetherlandsYou beat me Guy 🙂

Location: NetherlandsMy guess is that BL5 prioritize the coaxial input for signal processing and that the PL are used for volume control.
Hi YannChris, maybe you know this.
I am hoping one day to own a set of BeoLab 5s, and feed them a digital signal from a BeoSound Core (for optimal quality). They would be also front speakers for my BeoSystem 3 setup, so partly something like this (think Core instead of 9000).
My Core is part of a BeoLink NL/ML system, so I am now wondering: if I watch TV (BS3 feeding analog signals into the BL5s), but in another room someone starts the linked Core’s radio (it will start to provide a digital output signal), will the BL 5s keep playing TV audio or will they let the digital radio audio overrule?
Regards, Johan

Location: NetherlandsLooks cool Evan! Will you make use of the ribbed backside of the BL4000s so the position angle can be varied (or will it rely on gravity and friction).

Location: NetherlandsHi mreilly2002, and welcome!
Connecting the Sky Glass TV’s eARC HDMI port with an HDMI port on the BeoSystem3 will not work. Search the archive forums and you will find threads like these: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/23067/191023.aspx#191023 / https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/44743/324322.aspx#324322.
As I think there is no (optical) audio output on the TV, the option you have is to extract the audio signal from the eARC port and then feeding it into the BS3 either with a coax spdif or an HDMI lead, using something like this: https://marmitek.com/collections/hdmi-audio-extractor/products/connect-ae14-hdmi-audio-extractor-4k-arc or this https://www.reichelt.nl/nl/en/hdmi-earc-audio-adapter-extractor-4k-18-gb-s-pure-ptchdearc4k-p311687.html?CCOUNTRY=662&LANGUAGE=nl&GROUPID=5391&START=0&OFFSET=16&SID=93Xlul5qwQATUAAEhF17k8d54b7f16b05b0e810d1859a0f9e7465&LANGUAGE=EN&&r=1. There are many if you google a bit.
My advice is to be critical when selecting one: if I am not wrong the Marmitek wants you to press a button each time you use it? I would not want to do that!
I use a BeoSystem 3 for processing audio only using it’s spdif coax input and that works fine with me (5.1 max). I believe that when using one of its HDMI inputs you can play also 7.1.
Good luck, let us know your next steps.

Location: NetherlandsHi Joost, all, did anyone see or try this product: https://neomesteren.dk/en/produkter/neoradio?
What could be interesting is the claim “Neo Stream is developed for Neo Radio. You experience it as DAB channels. Change channels with your Beo4 or Beoremote One. It couldn’t be easier.” There is no manual available on the site, so how that exactly works is not clear to me. I would guess it converts internet radio into an FM signal that is fed into the antenna input plug.
It states that the Neo Radio supports BeoSound 9000.
Not supercheap either (3000 dkk / 400 eur) and currently out of stock.

Johan
Location: NetherlandsWelcome to the forum JMK. There seems to exist a ‘converter’ according to this older beoworld thread: https://archivedforum.beoworld.org/forums/p/12394/92008.aspx. Not sure if that device would also translate Beo4 or BeoLink 1000 tone adjustment signals. The manual found here does not mention tone adjustment. https://beo.zone/media/files/Bang-Olufsen-Beomaster_5000-Owners-Manual-2.pdf.
I think Matador gives the best advice.Regards, Johan
Location: NetherlandsHi, I tried to capture the texture of the powdercoating on my 7-4. I can tell it was a massive improvement from the scratched and sticky ‘before’ situation. But it also costed more than the speaker :-).
Good luck, let us know the result!

Johan
Location: NetherlandsThat BeoGram looks superb Leosgonewild!
Location: NetherlandsHello DanteM,
I have good experience with powdercoating. I brought a very sticky BeoLab 7-4 to a local shop, they sandblasted the empty cabinet (I made sure to put screws to avoid the threads get damaged or covered) and coated it with a light textured black coating. They normally make you choose from samples so you can choose how smooth or rough you want the texture. It does not feel rubbery but is much more pleasant to the touch than before and very tough.
I had some Beo4’s done as well and the coating holds really well. I can send a photograph tomorrow when there is daylight again if you want.
Regards, Johan
Location: NetherlandsI feel rich now, owning a BeoLab 3500 and TWO 1611s :-). Thanks Matador and Guy!

Location: NetherlandsHi Rolf,
I am now able to switch radio stations using Beo4 straight on. No need to use the app first anymore! I have not noticed a software update, but I did fiddle a bit with the Core settings though. The only thing is that I cannot choose the first station in the B&O radio list by pressing a ‘1’ nor pressing ’01’ nor pressing ‘1 GO’. The other stations do respond directly. I have asked B&O for this.
Keep you posted, Johan.
Location: NetherlandsHi Xavier,
Both my BLCs are “1.4.3.19864, December 11, 2015” and they work fine.
Hope this helps. Regards, Johan
Location: NetherlandsHello Hiort, sounds like the same issue that Rolf2 and I have, see here: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/bo-radio-migration-available-now/page/4/#post-12269.
We found that after changing station once in the app, then changing stations with the remote works as normal again.
