MillemisBRONZE MemberI wouldn’t count on any of the Mozart devices as being able to act like a hub.
Your Apple TV (being pretty recent I think?) though will act as a hub for Matter enabled B&O devices.
We still know too little about the Matter integration of the Mozart products.
However – like in my case with the Hue setup – you’ll need the Hue Bridge in any case.
And this is Matter and Thread compatiple as far as I know.
Apart from this – I guess – my AppleTV 4K could do the job.Interesting days ?

MillemisBRONZE MemberFrom Christian, on the Discord channel ChristianK — i dag kl. 08:38 Without having had a look in the crystal ball, I would say: probably not. Matter can potentially be the “saviour of simple automations”, but deep product specific features (let’s take the overlay functionality on Mozart as an example) will probably not be exposed via Matter. To me, a good, local, open and preferably well documented API will win over Matter-compatibility any day. Don’t read this as “Matter is baaaad!”. I think it will make it much easier for “everyone” to do more stuff with their devices in general suing Matter, but if you like the nitty-griddy stuff like me, I don’t think it’s superior.
Sure, no doubt about that.
But if you just want to be able to control the light in your room/, it might be a different question.
Then Matter alone might be enough?MM

12 January 2023 at 14:45 in reply to: Wanted! Guide for setting up and controlling Light with the Beoremote One/BT. #40236 MillemisBRONZE MemberJust to end this thread, that I started, here is how my solution became as of now.
Maybe someone with similar questions can benefit from this.First a big thank you too all, who participated…
Since I am not into any kind of automation, the money for a BLI or a BLGW and the time and efford to set this up, seemed to much for me – I went for the easier solution.
As stated earlier I was only interested in a solution for having control of multiple lamps and having different light scenes in my rooms.
The ditching of the old LC1/2 with the oldschool lamps was overdue.
Not just because of energy saving, but also the fact that slowly the Beo4’s have become Beoremote Ones (ir -> bt).
When you get a Theatre setup in the main room, Beo4’s are finally of no use anymore…..and furthermore I did not want to keep these just for the sake of having the old LC-controls (yes, I know I am late to the party).Every old bulb/lamp that previously was B&O LC-controlled now have become Hue lights…….set up in 4 rooms here.
Luckily a new Hue controller was launched not long ago – this has 4 programmable favourite buttons and a general dimmer function, which is all I need.Ok, it certainly is not the solution, that I would have prefered – much nicer would be to be able to use the Light functions or maybe even the MyButtons on the BROne.
However it works and it works well!Maybe some day the coming Matter integration of the Mozart products could allow for the use of the BROne/Light controls with the Hue setup?
The Hue Bridge seems to be Matter and Thread compatiple.
Could be a nice solution for someone like me, who, ‘only’ wants to be able to control the Lights and has no need for other automation stuff.MM

MillemisBRONZE MemberThis could – at least theoretically – mean that, if you are not into the automation stuff….and just want to control e.g. Hue lights, this might be possible with the BROne/Halo using a Mozart product as the hub.
No need for a BLI in that particular case anymore, then!Or am I expecting too much?

MillemisBRONZE MemberHi Lonnie
Welcome on the new forum.
You can post pictures, if you use the ‘Visual’ tab and tab the little picture icon on the left (under ‘Paragraph’) – no need to use ‘attachments’, if it is about a picture (these are more meant for files).
And yes – I also have to listen to some Jeff Beck – RIP – today.

MillemisBRONZE MemberP.S. Still a mystery to me what Matter support for the Mozart products will mean/bring us for our daily use
MM
Simple : Matter is a standard, so if everything goes well, you won’t need any box like BLI or anything to control it (and create automations) via any home control system (Apple Home, or others)
That is kind of my understanding as well.
But why would we then need a new BLI version?
Maybe for mixed setups or???MM

MillemisBRONZE Member@Emil
What you mean, can only be that the BLI also will support Matter (?).
But, does that really need a new version (BLI MK2) – or will that be done through sw update.P.S.
Still a mystery to me what Matter support for the Mozart products will mean/bring us for our daily use ?MM

8 January 2023 at 13:27 in reply to: So how’s the Beosound Theatre working out for B&O so far? #42188 MillemisBRONZE Member@Mark
I do not know, if or how you use the MyButtons?
However, you could use one of these to start tv watching with just the Theatre.
Anything else stays as is.
That would simplify things even more.MM

Was that an update just for your BS1 or is it a general one?MM

MillemisBRONZE MemberThere could be a different solution for you. I’ve been considering the project of using a spare 3500 above a jacuzzi in my bedroom. For my project, I’ve considered using an NL/ML Converter with a ML Power Box — that’s the very tiny box that you must connect to the NL/ML Converter when there is no ML Audio or Video Master present. This would give you the AUX input of the NL/ML Converter as well as any sources such as Deezer, TuneIn, etc. that you get if you have any NL product such as just an inexpensive Beoplay M3. This would give you a great deal of flexibility of source buttons to which you could map the sources. Now that I have an extra NL/ML Converter and ML Power Box I have everything that I would need for the project.
That is a sophisticated setup – but probably a bit over the top of what Matador has aimed at.
Looking forward to hear about it, when you get it finished.MM

MillemisBRONZE MemberIt is a long time ago since I played with these kind of setups and I don’t have the opportunity to try it out right now.
Using the A/V function/button before you hit a video button however, means that you adress an audio source.
Again from memory……..why should a ‘pure’ audio command not work?
After all the converters were meant to be used from an audio system to a videosystem (MCL respectively ML) and also the opposite way.I you have an old MCL-based audiomaster (BM 4500/6500 etc), you could try out the 1611 with that to see if it works with audio commands from the 3500.
P.S. The 3500 should be in Option 6, which is factory setting.

MillemisBRONZE MemberTo my knowledge there is no option of configuring the 1611…….
……..other than is has to be turned on by the mains as the last device, when setting things up.
Sort of self-configurating.MM

MillemisBRONZE MemberAwesome!
I do not understand much of it, but I certainly see, that you – and your friends – have done an amazing job.
Kudos to you ?

I am not sure that he is right (I don’t think he has ever testet it).
You will soon know ?MM

MillemisBRONZE MemberI guess those would work.
These look more like the ones, that normally are used…..that is, if you just want to use some passive non-B&O speakers:
Off ‘the Bay’ they should be available.

MillemisBRONZE Member MillemisBRONZE MemberThe recording came out in 2022 post mortem – it was fast finished before the tradigically death of David Lyngdon in November 2021.
David had been in the band Big Big Train since 2009 as frontman, singer and multiinstrumentalist.
This album is something worth listening to multiple times.
