I have been dreaming of this for 10 years…

[Leosgonewild]

I just finished restoring this.

Is there any damage to your original metal strip? It is easy to remove with some heat. Then it can be attached to the new lid.

Yes, you just need google home to set it up. After that the stereo pair will show as a chromecast device.

[Leosgonewild]

Yes, they can be stereo paired in google home.
you can also have multiple stereo pairs in a speaker group.

Thanks for solving my problem (or lack of error searching skills), Geoff ?

[Leosgonewild]

I tried to lay the speaker on its back. Still same scratching.
I took it off, and when I press it down with my fingers, I can’t reproduce it.
Considering to cut off the dust cap and use some air pressure.

As you can see from the pictures I doubt that I can source the driver.

Thanks for the welcome back ?

And now for the million dollar question:

what song was I listening to when I noticed the issue?

I can`t figure out how to send you this picture in a PM. But feel free to use this picture in your writeup. (and also delete our comments after it)

Amazing documentation of the process, Matador. Great pictures ?

As you have written in other posts, the placement of the new foam in the column is incorrect.
Would it be possible to replace the pictures in this thread in order to make this writeup correct?
