If you compare the specs, the cx100 is going derper in the low frequency range but the maximum sound pressure is higher in the bl4000

Actually i own BL8000(from 2007) and BL4000 and i really don’t like their sound compared to my Beovox RL60.2 and RL140. The sound is thin and missing depth. The soundstage is not so wide. So my experiences ence is that the older bigger Beovox speakers sounding warmer and more romantic/more pleasant to my ears. And the moderner ones with Icepower have Listening_fatique on my ears. I have a very good hearing. (Offtopic i listened at a dealer on a pair of expensive b&w speakers with a heavy McIntosh tube amp(6xKT150/ch) and the feedback in the amp was extreme. The sound was cold and harsh and lifeless. (and it is always Eric Clapton. Mein gott. Frying your eardrums). All the listening pleasure was gone. I even got a starting headache from the sound ) So in my opinion i like even The Beovox more than Beolab. Maybe it is because im a hyper sensible person. I don’t know…

Seems that is was indeed not done at the factory (not properly bend). Maybe you could download the service manual and looking where it is in the diagram to clear things out

You are right it looks much better than the very expensive ones (indeed too wide and bulky) and your solution is also alot cheaper

That is true. Only the abslutely technical 100% perfect panels are reserved for B&O. Even if it would fit of working the quality would be nog good enough.

Or try to use 2-component epoxy glue. Cyanoacrylate superglue is not durable

That is the reason i never wanteda bs9000. Not so durable as the Beosystem 9500 ( okay tape and one cd) but build like a tank and the laser is extremely durable (Philips CDM2, same as beogram cd5500) still plays after 32y without any reparation ( just replaced some belts from the sliding doors and tape)

You can just download the service manual online. There you have a better vieuw.

about the frequency that is not a problem. The transformer can handle both.
