BRONZE MemberI’ve had my android and iOS apps lock up a couple times since the upgrade.
I also had some strange behavior pairing/unpairing my Balances with iOS app. After pairing, the paired Balance still showed up in the list of devices, but the pair worked fine aside from it only playing one track from DLNA and then stopping (regardless of pairing status).
I now see that I cannot unpair them. It goes through the prompts but doesn’t do anything. Maybe I should not have deleted the “orphan” Balance that iOS left behind after I paired them. Now, when I go into the “Edit Stereo Pair” on the iOS app, the icon for the 2nd Balance is not there. It shows a “missing icon” graphic. The Android app shows both Balances, but still doesn’t unpair them.
I did not have them long enough before the upgrade to know if this is any different.

BRONZE MemberNot that it helps, but there used to be a really good repair place in suburban Chicago. He fixed my BS9000 and BS5 after a lightening strike. He was going to do some work on my BL1, but I never got around to getting it to him he closed. Hermit Labs RIP.

BRONZE MemberI had a problem with my Eclipse while still under warranty. Opened a case with B&O, they said “go to your dealer” . I said “dealer no longer sells B&O”. They sent me to the Cincinnati store as it is the closest. Many emails and long waiting, parts were sent and a repair man showed up at my home and fixed it (replaced the screen). In talking with the repair guy, turns out he was a former trainer for B&O who lived in the area. So, in the end, they figured it out. If you’re not under warranty, I don’t know what they will do.

BRONZE MemberAs I dig into this more, it is looking to be a problem with only a few songs that I was unlucky enough to try to play one after another. I’m using my BeoMaster5 as the source. It’s weird because at least one of the problem songs plays fine on the BS5, not none of my NL devices can stream it, but the rest of the songs on the album are fine.

BRONZE MemberThank you very much!

BRONZE MemberThanks again. This is most helpful.
“Strangely the BLC Line-in is not shown as source of the BLC in the app (BLC shows up in the app). The way around: setup the BLC as “primary connected” to the BS2. Then all (set up) sources of the BLC, including Line-in, are visible / reachable as “BS2 sources”.”
Yeah, this jogs some memories. I also saw some notes of mine in the archive where there’s a difference between “LineIn” and “LINE IN”, with “LINE IN” being the BLC’s aux input. Could one program a “my button” on a Beoremote One to automagically select this (I’ve only programmed “my buttons” for the TV)?
“Can’t command, no experience……. but I expect lots of strange behaviour; on the same time input and output…. how to handle?”
The idea is that the BS9000 can play whatever the Core is playing by selecting Aux on the BS9000, and the Core can broadcast whatever the BS9000 is playing by selecting Line-In on the Core. The input/output on the same device would not be active at the same time. That is, you wouldn’t select line-in (Core) and Aux (BS9000) at the same time. However, this will clearly have the same delay issues with the NL devices.
Going to have to think about this some more…

BRONZE MemberThanks everyone.
I did some reading in the archived forum, and it seems that Spotify can’t be streamed to the BLC as it is not a SpotifyConnect device (oddly enough, I found this gem in a post I wrote in 2016). The workaround/loophole is that one can connect a Chromecast Audio to an Aux-in somewhere and then distributed that (or send Spotify as Bluetooth from a phone to a NL device and distribute that). Of course, Deezer works, too… without the gymnastics… except my family uses Spotify…
The problems I was running into last time with the BS5 and the BLC were because I also had a BV8 and BS9000 so all the ML “slots” were used up (A.Master, V.Master and Source Master). I no longer have the BV8 connected to the ML network so I can set the BLC to V.master and all the V.master sources will be available for integration, correct?
So far so good. To continue down the Spotify path, I already own a Chromecast Audio, but now the question is about how Aux-in is handled and the delay.
If I were to route the Aux-in from the BS9000 to a NL device, I believe there will be a delay on the NL side, but no delay on the ML side. Therefore, if I had both devices playing at the same time, there’d be an “echo”. This is the scenario that the “NL/ML delay box” handles, correct? To delay the analog side (ML) to match the delay imposed by the digital side (NL)? Therefore, if I want synchronized audio from line-in input across all devices, I need to use line-in on the NL side (or find a delay box, but I don’t believe this box will delay the output between the BS9000 line-in and speakers connected to the BS9000, only to other ML connected devices).
Therefore (assuming I’m correct in my thinking so far), I can, for example, connect a Chromecast to the Line-In on the BLC, and continue with a turntable connected to the Line-in on my (pre-GVA) BS2, and then map these to A.Video sources (like TV or DTV) in the BLC. Then, I press TV or DTV on the Beo4 while standing in front of my BS9000 or BL3500 and off we go on the ML devices.
On the NL devices, how do you specify the BLC’s line-in as a source? I don’t recall whether the BLC shows up as a NL device in the BeoApp. If so, I’d start playing the Chromecast via the Spotify App which the BLC will sense and turn on, and then I can “touch to join” on NL devices (or app) to hear the audio?
One more question on a slightly different topic, if I want to play CDs from the BS9000 on my BL3500 and have this simultaneously playing on a NL device, I would need a delay box, correct?
If I forget about the BLC and just add a core to the line-in of the BS9000, and connect the line-out of the BS9000 to the line-in of the core, I’d have a similar delay problem when playing CDs, correct? As the audio distributed via the line-in of the core is delayed a bit.

BRONZE MemberAt least with the Balance, the GVA version cannot distribute line-in audio to Multi-Room. I’d assume the same for the Level given they are both Mozart.
Stan
BRONZE MemberAlso, is there a software version I need to look out for? I see an eBay listing saying they are no longer user upgradable.
Stan
BRONZE MemberI just ordered a Balance with the US sales code. I almost bought one a few times over the years, but with the most recent price hike, I thought it may finally be out of reach. 20% brought it down below the price I last almost bought it so why not? Let’s hope I like it.

BRONZE MemberFunny (sort of), but my BS1 join button behaves similarly. Sometimes I miss physical buttons – at least you know when they are pressed.
Stan
BRONZE MemberMaybe your silver one has a broken center button (the touch to join). You say it is not there, but as far as I can remember, all BS1s had a center button. I’m guessing it is there, but has a fault so you cannot see it.
Stan
BRONZE MemberI have not owned a Moment, but the Essence mk2 is a decent device. Not sure if it behaves differently with the ML-NL converter vs. Moment – I do recall there being something unique to the Moment with respect to BeoVision integration, but this is a vague memory from the old forum.
Stan
BRONZE MemberI still have and use my BS9000. Mostly listen to a streamer connected to it, but during the holiday season my wife loads it up with Christmas CDs. Once in a while, I will break out a CD (or 6) and enjoy the show…
Stan
BRONZE MemberI must be blind because I’m not seeing the BS9000.
However, I do see that the BL4s have no cables 🙁
Stan
BRONZE MemberMaybe B&O will finally have an earbud that has good voice call clarity.
Stan
BRONZE MemberMy old dealer would give me 15% off pretty much all the time, but that might have something to do with them no longer being a dealer.
With no local dealer, I’ve never been able to get a discount by calling far away dealers (they position lack of sales tax as a “discount”). Although I’ve only ever made small purchases.
Stan
BRONZE MemberI’ve doubt that it can be disabled. ABL attenuates the bass at high volumes to protect the speakers so, if there were a way to turn it off, you’d risk damaging your drivers. Hence, many B&O speakers are known for being “screechy” at high volumes. The screech is an indication that you should probably lower the volume. Do you have a very large room or do you just enjoy music at “club” levels?
Stan
BRONZE MemberYou missed the window on the BS2 mp3 player. A few years ago (2014?), they were selling for silly money in Japan or China. I recall seeing a “sold” ebay listing for ~$1000.00. Alas, I didn’t bother with trying to sell mine because it was slightly damaged, and I have misplaced the dock somewhere (at some point I started using the travel charger exclusively). Lately, I’ve seen one listed for $200, but not if it was triggering any bidding action.
Stan
BRONZE MemberAccording to an earlier post in this forum (search Beolink Multiroom – as I can’t seem to copy the URL), B&O Radio will be available on all connected speakers in Q2 2022. I would assume the Core counts as a connected speaker.
I have this issue with TuneIn stations disappearing, too. I’m looking forward to B&O Radio.
