TignumGOLD Member TignumGOLD MemberLooking good, must sound fantastic with the BL9s. The tilting is indeed quite a special feature of the 7-40 stands (I admit to have modded a 7-40 wall bracket for my 7-32 once).
I always found it an interesting choice of B&O to make the BeoLab 7-1/2/6 slightly different in width than the TV sets!

TignumGOLD MemberHi Joris,
Don’t expect too much technical expertise from me here! I was in the same situation as you are, hoping to improve the speed of the BM5 with a move to SSD. I followed Jens Renboell’s hint for purchasing the specific Western Digital SSD, and the info from this thread https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/49873.aspx for purchasing an external cloner, and with the WD drive it was not very complicated at all. I took the SSD to my brother who (on a PC, I use a Mac) helped to stretch the 500GB partition on the SSD (that was the result of the cloning0 to 1TB). I do remember the BM5 needed a few recovery cycles, but since then worked well. I did place the WD SSD in an interface frame to be able to secure it well in the place where the much larger HDD was – see the images.
I saw you trying to contact Jens Rendboell over the forum already, maybe you can send him a private message?
I would say that the risk is low when you keep your original HDD, you can always put that back in.
Regards,
Johan

TignumGOLD MemberHi, I am in contact with the support team too. I reported that the button to add an album is there, but that I have not been able to make it work.
Furthermore that returning to the player, a lot of ‘<‘ clicks are needed.
Keep you posted.

TignumGOLD MemberHello Joris, I did that a few years ago. I was able to go from 500GB to 1TB. Beoworld member Rendboell shared a lot of detail of how he has been doing so, and I followed his description carefully. It involved taking out the HDD and cloning it to the SSD with a cloning device. And also using a specific type of SSD. Check this thread carefully: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beomaster-5-motherboard/.
Hope this helps!

TignumGOLD Member TignumGOLD MemberV7.0.0 also removed:
1. Ability to play an entire folder of songs via UPnP DNLA.
2. Ability to close the Music Browser from any view. Now one must back out all the way to the root view to close the music library browser.
3. Adding a song to the Play Que no longer closes the Add Song dialog -nor is there any audio or visual confirmation that the selection was added to the Play Que.
It also was necessary to re-add my Home Media server to all IOS devices after the v7.0.0 “update”.
The app still appears to have no means of clearing the Play Que other than one song at a time.
Not sure why there is so little effort made regarding DNLA integration. Happy to hear of any solutions found for any of the above

Hi all, missing the above (simple) playlist management features is very annoying!
I will also drop a note at support, will report what they say now.

TignumGOLD MemberHi Joris, see maybe this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/46773.aspx
I am sure there are more threads that you can find by hard googling :-). Using a tag editor can help you out. Album cover images should not be too large.
Let us know your progress!

Hoping this cheers you up a little maybe 🙂

I guess finding a second hand replacement BV8 is the easiest and cheapest way. Here in the Netherlands they get sold for sometimes just 50 euro.

TignumGOLD MemberI am a fan of the Beomaster 1900, the first B&O product that I got close to at my parents in law: I now own a 4500, the last one of the series. Very nice product with lots of connectivity (and remote controlled).
Furthermore the BeoSound 5 – so different from anything else!
One more thing I really like B&O for: their careful design approach and use of aluminium and wood (I once saw photographs here of a modern BM5000 prototype with only the lower part of the sides in veneer, I might one day make a mod :-))

TignumGOLD MemberHi CharlieWednesday, for best menu-control of my BeoSystem 3, I bought a BR1 BT. I think it is very elegant but a bit vulnerable for dings. It died once but I got a replacement (inner part) on warranty. The BR1 indeed is more difficult to use in the dark with its smooth buttons. I still think it is way better than a lot of plastic squeaky and flimsy plastic remotes other brands offer!
I bought a Beo4 ‘joystick’ later, and that is the one I use every day. Perhaps it is also because of the other 6 Beo4s around the house :-). I keep a couple of 1000s for spare in a drawer, and I have a Beo6 that I should get to work one day coming winter 🙂
