Hi Madskp, good post. I have some of these too, and also like them very much. An advantage is that when you change placement of your devices, you can easily buy another CAT7 cable of the correct length for a decent amount of money. I used to crimp RJ45 connectors to cut-in-two ML cables for connecting to RJ45 wall outlets. The adapters make life much easier

I admit that I even use a color logic for ML and NL cables, this can be done easily with CAT7 cables available in any color you want.

Hey Matador, that is a shame… My (only) Beo6 has been sitting on its cradle since it received its CS battery. Reason is that I messed the configuration up, and am now waiting to get an old Windows computer to enable me to access it again. It shows “No valid configuration!” only, and I also cannot get it to display battery status. When I will have it reanimated, I will update about battery behavior. How can these batteries be so full of magic? Weird… Regards, Johan

Hello joupar, I do also think that a repair is the most elegant way, but if you cannot find the issue or a replacement panel, you could maybe find a fully working MkI for little money. It will depend a bit where you live I reckon. Also that panel will be old, so it is a chance, but it could be a cheap way to get a working TV (for now) again. Also a good chance to get an extra Beo4, a higher/lower/wall stand,  another  BeoLab 7. Here in the Netherlands they come very cheap as they are heavy and people want them to be picked up. A bit of overkill I would say haha. The integration in the Busch-Jäger wall outlet looks more than it is: I glued a ‘blind’ cover into the plastic frame and then drilled out the hole for the IR eye. The IR eye is attached to a bracket inside the wall box with some velcro tape. Good enough for the garage. Thanks Madskp! Johan

Working on a 1994 Trek road bike restomod project – but not without some music playing on the BeoLabs!

I had two of these for less than 100 euro’s, stripped them and had the cabinets powdercoated. As they are centerchannel speakers I feed them 2xL and 2xR (tweak in the RJ45 wall outlet). They are connected to a BLC that gets the NL from an Airport Express. Happy with my (once) 6000 euro garage soundsystem 🙂

This is my current set-up (BL2000 still in the works). BS5/BM5 without speakers directly connected. I do not own a truly NL only device (yet).
