    Hi Guy,

Looks like a very interesting and well made project, thanks for sharing this!

    Kind regards, Steve.

    Hi VinceV,

Incorrectly grounded cables are the most common cause of noise when using turntables.  The cable that I make (linked in Guy’s message above) is the same one that I make for B&O to use on the Beogram 4000c and Beosystem 72-23, so you can be certain that this is made to the very best quality and correctly wired.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: BeoMaster 5 A Aux source #49662

    Thanks MM,

The USB adapter is great for audio sources, but unfortunately Beomaster 5 cannot work directly with a non-B&O TV.

If you connect a TV to Beomaster 5 via the USB adapter, there will be a delay to the audio from the TV, so that it will not match the picture (this delay occurs within the Beomaster 5 and it is a known issue with B&O). The only solution to this is to buy a Beolink Converter from Bang & Olufsen (type 1161166) and connect this to the Beomaster 5 with a Masterlink cable:

    https://soundsheavenly.com/21-link-systems

In the BS5 menu, there is an “AudioMaster” submenu that needs to be selected as ON. There is also another menu just below it called “AM”, please set this to AM: 2 or AM: 6.

I can then help with a cable from the converter to the TV, depending on the audio outputs fitted to the TV.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Universal Link Adapter #49555

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply, yes this is a current Molex part and type approvals are already in place for it.  I see from your website that the B&O flagship store in Berlin financed the project?  That seems like a lot of commitment for them if this is your own personal project…are you or B&O Berlin looking to offer these to other B&O owners in the future?  I could certainly be interested!

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Universal Link Adapter #49553

“Had to recreate a replacement for the ML plug as well. The result is a compact RJ45 <-> ML adapter. Works like the original one but does not depend on discontinued connectors.”

Discontinued?  No way!  I still have access to new Masterlink connectors and I use these to make Masterlink cables to the original B&O specifications 😉

Neat project though.  I agree with MM, why share it with us if you aren’t willing to make them?

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Hoe sluit ik een Beogram 4500 aan op speakers? #49458

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply.  In this case, yes you can use the cable that Tignum mentioned in the post above to connect the Beogram 4500 to the RCA input of your volume controlled speakers:-

in reply to: Hoe sluit ik een Beogram 4500 aan op speakers? #49455

    Hi,

Sorry for replying in English.  Which model of speakers are you using please?  In order to be able to connect a Beogram turntable directly to speakers, the speakers need to have their own volume control, as the Beogram doesn’t have any volume adjustment built in.

I can then help with the correct cable to use once the model of the speakers is known.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Ode to the original H9s #49013

    Hi,

Yes I also love my H9 (3rd gen), the sound and build quality are superb. The passive mode is great for everyday use with my PC, saving the battery for when I’m travelling or if I need the noise cancelling.

    A B&O classic!

    Kind regards, Steve

in reply to: Triggered Beolab 4000 switching on and off #48950

    Hi Leo,

If you switch the affected speaker between left, right and line via the input switch, is the issue still there please?  It may be a faulty switch as these aren’t particularly robust.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Beolab 8 #48751

    Hi,

Please don’t worry – I checked with B&O and both Airplay 2 and Chromecast are built into Beolab 8 – this was just an error in the spec sheet which will be corrected shortly.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Beolab 8 #48741

    Hi,

The fluid sweet spot requires Ultra Wide-band connectivity which I don’t think was available when Beolab 28 was developed.

    Kind regards, Steve.

in reply to: Beolab 8 #48728

    Hi,

To clarify, Beosound A5 never had an analogue line input, it only accepts a digital connection to a USB master device (eg a computer), as well as using this socket for charging.  This is the same as with Explore and A1.

Beolab 8 is reported as having an analogue line input via the USB-C socket, as with Theatre and the latest Mozart equipped A9 and Beosound 2.

Beolab 8 also has an RJ45 Powerlink input for low latency connection to any B&O TV or AV receiver (via the correct cables of course!)

    Kind regards Steve.

    Hi Oldjack,

That is great to hear, it is always good when you get a chance to meet up with friends who you have known for years on the forum.  Great B&O setup there, by the way!

    Kind regards,

    Steve.

PS. Anyone else from Beoworld coming to the Beofriends repair day in Netherlands on 5th November?

in reply to: Thank you! #48557

    Hi Xavierltzmann,

Sorry I can’t ship to the US at the moment.  Whilst my family situation is improving, this isn’t fully resolved and I am having to take extra time out from work to take care of my family.  Please remember that I am just one person, with a finite amount of time.

My passion is supporting the B&O community and helping to keep B&O products alive, but I can’t support every B&O owner in the whole world by myself.  For this reason, I am offering support and cables to B&O fans in the United Kingdom and Europe at the moment, with the hope that in the future I may be able to expand this further (depending on the health of my family).

Whilst your cables are important, I apologise that I must put my family’s health first, so I am not currently offering shipping outside Europe.

    Hi MM,

Thanks for your kind words!  Yes, things are improving at home and my family member is recovering.

I am trying a new shipping option that appears to be faster and more reliable than those offered previously for delivery to Europe.  I will update you on delivery times once I have some data in the next few days.  At the moment, customs duty does still need to be paid when items from UK are delivered to the EU, but I am looking to see if there is a way to pre-pay these fees.

Thanks for your patience and support.

    Kind regards, Steve.
