It should not lose the pairing. It should stay paired no matter where you move it to.
I have the same issue periodically with my hard wired 28s and Theatre.
That works. Thanks!
I use a BR1 paired with a pair of Emerges.
I have a pair and am very happy with them, but have no experience with a Level or BS2.
I see there’s a new app update today that adds headphone support for the Theatre and manual speaker setup. It looks like there is now a place to add third-party speakers when adding speakers. Also, there are two new speaker roles “left downmix” and “right downmix” with this annoying scrolling list at the bottom of that page that covers up part of the page.I can’t seem to figure out what those two new speaker roles are for. Has anyone noticed any other differences?
Just installed it. Where do you see the option to add third party speakers?
I had both 20s and 9s at the same time. I traded in the 20s and still have the 9s. Also prefer the 9s over 20s.
Need to add 6000s and then 1s to the beginning of the list. Also a couple pairs of 4000s and a pair of 12-3s as rears and/or link rooms.
Not the exact answer you are looking for but here is my experience. I had Beolab 9s. Wanted 5s. Dealer brought a pair to my house and let me try them out for a couple weeks. I heard a difference, but not necessarily an improvement. Even with the great deal I was offered, I sent them back. I then got 20s, that were traded for 50s, and then replaced the 50s with 28s. I absolutely love the 28s.
Thanks! Although it would be nice if pressing CD on the BR1 would start the CD through the Theatre, as it does with my V1 and Essence. Sounds like to get the same direct functionality with the Theatre as the V1 and Essence have, a BLI is needed. I can’t remember the last time I listened to a CD, but do like having the option, and a little B and O magic having the old integrated with new.
Sounds like your system is working the same as mine. Perhaps the Theatre does not directly support the converter.
If I start a CD playing through my Essence, I can then join the Theatre using my Halo and get the CD to play through the Theatre.
Curiosity got to me. I reconnected my 3000. CDs play from it through my Beoplay V1 via the converter, but I can not find a way to get it to work with the Theatre, yet.
I’m still working out how to make some settings like: 1) how can I activate a source on my link system say CD from a ML product (fully connected with NL/ML Converter)? I can only see JOIN on the BR1 but that doesn’t do anything either. I might be missing something very basic but this is my first BR1. 2) arrange a sound mode so that front and rear speakers play stereo. What used to be called SPEAKER 4 on older systems. 3) arrange so that my rear speakers and subwoofer play stereo (for when stereo sound from the rear is more appropriate for a listening position). Other than that I have to say I am rather impressed. My BeoLab 1 and BeoLab 2 have never sounded this good. Very clear mid and treble as always but no rumbling or echo from the walls and floor adding rumble to the bass. Now controlled and clear and very deep tones. The switching off and on of the room correction reveals a massive difference.
With respect to your third question, you would rerun room sense and create a listening position but include the two rear speakers and subwoofer when you create the position and run room sense.
With respect to your second question, you would do the same, although I am nit sure exactly what roles would be assigned to the speakers.
For example, with my system I have listening positions set that include just by two front 28s, 28s and a 9 being used as sub, 28s, 1s, and Theatre, and 28s, 1s, Theatre, and 9 as a sub.
With respect to your first question. I am not sure. I have a Beosound 3000 and a converter but never tried activating through the Theatre. Currently my 3000 is disconnected due to some work being done in that room. I will try reconnecting and see if I can get it working with the Theatre and BR1 if nobody can answer you before then.
After trying a 19 with my Theatre/28s/1s and finding it did not make enough difference to justify it’s purchase, I decided to try something weird.
I connected a BL9 to the Theatre with a Receiver 1, but told the Theatre it is a sub. The result….AMAZING. I am hearing bass tones in organ music I have never heard before, either with my 50s or 28s. Might be a new market for used 9s as subs with a Theatre LOLWeird problems. Hopefully someone here with much more knowledge on the subject than me will be able to help you.
You should set all speakers (with such a setting option) to free. This is how they were measured in Struer, before adding the values to the BS Theatre for the Room Sense process. A BL2 (or any sub) should be connected with its own PL (with no daisychaining to other BL’s).….otherweise the BS Theatre will not know which values to use, when Room Sensing. According to the BL2 manual, it should be set to 3, since it is connected seperately to the system: “If you have a Dolby Digital system, and therefore no speakers are directly connected to BeoLab 2, we recommend that you set the SETUP switch to 3”. MM
Any idea whether the Phase setting on the 19 is still relevant with a Theatre or does the Theatre’s magic make the Phase switch redundant?
I can do that with my 28s as fronts using them as the music source, but don’t know of any way to do it otherwise.
Connected a BL19 to my Theatre today, along with 28s and 1s. Question….does the Phase setting on the 19 matter with the Theatre?
Sorry, I am not quite understanding. How does the BLI facilitate the playing of the records?
What do you mean by placed on a stand?
thanks!
