Hi MM, The A5 does not allow feeding analogue audio into the USB-C port. However, it can connect to a computer using a USB-C cable and thhis will play the computer audio to the speaker, as well as charging the speaker. Kind regards, Steve.
Hi Steve
Thanks for clarifying.

Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberThe problem is….that you on the A5 only have 1 USB-C port.
As long as the battery is full, you – theoretically – can use this for feeding audio (has to be tested, though).
But having to swap cables to charge * in the midst of an album, would be a no go for me.
(I am not aware of a solution/dongle that could charge the battery and pass audio through at the same time). The A5 was made for wireless feeding of audio.
Imo there is nothing wrong with that……unless you absolutely want to connect a turntable (or an older Beosystem ?)*Would be interesting to know, if connecting to a computer also includes charging?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberHonestly….do you really think you can hear a difference using the A5?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberWhy not just airplay from your Roon device to the A5?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberThere are 1 woofer and and 1 tweeter – and then two tweeters, one on each corner.
And then there is DSP magic builtin.

Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberA fully working BS Theater………with all new ‘satellite’ speakers for surround/rear/height ?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberWhich version of the BV7 do you have?
Do you have a centerspeaker also added?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberNot knowing which version of the BV7 you have and the configuration overall…..the most obvious reason is, that you can only add surround speakers, if you also have front speakers.

Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberBut the pictures with the designers holding it over the shoulder like an old gettoblaster is… Too much cheesy!

I would not do that (not for long) – it is pretty heavy.
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberIn the specs they write: Mozart 2.0 platform.
I wonder what the 2.0 means/will bring?

MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberWell – of course you are right.
However, it will be compared to the Beolit xx – but it is in any way better (again imo). The size makes it a portable/moveable speaker/BS…..with a ‘sound’ that is big ?
The only way to judge it, is to see and hear.
As with any speaker/BS this is not for everyone.Looking forward to hear what people – who had a proper listen – will say.
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberI had the opportunity to listen to the BS A5 today (in Struer).
Pretty amazing for the size – as a stereo setup it sounds even better, of course.
I did not make photos…..those, that you can see tomorrow at launch day, will be better anyway.
Starting tomorrow you can see/hear it in the shops – pictures will certainly not do this rather small speaker justice.
With the Mozart platform and the future options this will bring to it, it – in my opinion – is a resonably priced product.
I am sure it will sell well.
I wonder if I can find a place for it at home ?
N.B.
If is possible to use it as a BT speaker only, if that is what you’d want….and you can charge your phone on top of it.MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberHi there and welcome.
Maybe this helps
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberThe new A9 5th edition arrives this Wednesday!
And the official launch of the Beosound A? is on Thursday…..as far as I know.
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberThe linked ir eye is the right one – ad the description states.
Please remember the required cable!
The BeoSound Core version without IR had the type nr. 2797. The newer is type nr. 3051.

Thank you both for thinking ahead – we need that!9LEE wrote:
‘So, we have the saying “If you’re not paying, YOU are the product”. I’m not sure where it was first said, but it’s very true. Companies who offer amazing platforms for free need to be getting their money from somewhere and most of it is simply the selling of your data, or having huge amounts of advertising. BeoWorld has neither, and never will have.’This is one main reason I stick to the Beoworld forum.
I’d like as much basic knowledge of B&O and the possibilities etc as possible to be free – including the access to the old and the old, old forum.——
Call the interested person, who wants to write/ask or even contribute a ‘Basic Member’.
No trying to ‘sell-stuff-or-wanting-to-buy-stuff-posts’ however, should be allowed for the basic members. The member with full access to everything could be called ‘VIP Member’.
Whatever you decide, it is a good idea to have only two levels.
Of course it needs to be visible on the website what the difference/the benefits of being a full/VIP member is…..including that one then contributes financially to the future of the forum.

Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberHard to say, when one does not know the version of your Beo4….you’ll need one with the joystick anyway.
Did you try the Play button (given there is one on your remote)?
MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberThanks millemissen, are these sources internal LG tv sources or hdmi sources connected to the Theatre? thanks
Oh, sorry – they are connected to the Theatre and PUC’ed (except for the Chromecast Ultra dongle, obviously).
The only component of the LG-tv I use is – occasionally – the tuner…..and then the screen, of course.MM
Location: Flensborg————DanmarkGOLD MemberPlease excuse the dust on the remote…..and the bad quality of the photos.
But it shows how my Theatre remote looks – I have only 4 entries there (all that I need).MM
