Hello Boj,
how big is the distance between the two black feets of the stand?
You could have a narrow metal plate made with two threaded holes. It could be wedged with long screws and thus hold. Maybe add a padding to each one side so that the black foot is not damaged?
Best regards
23 January 2025 at 22:02 in reply to: Beolab 8000: white damping foam/serial number and cap repair #63034Hi Marting,
thanks for your answer and sorry for my late reply, I did not check Beoworld last 2 weeks (what a shame!!) – indeed I heard that noise both, from my Beosound 9000 as well as from a non-B&O AV receiver (where I use Powerlink sockets with cables+trigger made by myself).
Strange thing is that both speaker show same noise, as well as the noise pattern itself which I never heard so far. But could be caused by the symmetric aging process, if coarse.
As the foam seems ok, I do shift further investigations, the noise is not too loud…
Best regards!
Peter, I like your Beogram Christmas tree picture!
Great BeoCaves posted here, by the way 🙂
My wife knows my incurable infection with the Beovirus. But buying an ex Bang & Olufsen retail store display shelf for my home office left her a little bit speechless and laughing 🙂 The led lighting was installed by myself. The original Bang & Olufsen shelf comes without lights.
I just showed your post to my wife, she was laughing as well 🙂
Great integration! Best regards

While browsing the forum I noticed there hasn’t been a 2025 post on the ,flash your B&O – so I jumped to it with a quick snap of my living room. Imo the best pairing of front and rear speakers from the older models. They look fabulous together but are incredibly well matched tonally.
Hi pepps, I like this collection of great, now even vintage B&O products, looks really fabulous! So, is the Beomaster 6500 driving the Beovoxes on the wall during Beo7 decoding 5.1 surround sound?
BTW: Thanks for reactivation of that thread 🙂
6 January 2025 at 18:00 in reply to: Beolab 8000: white damping foam/serial number and cap repair #62360Thanks a lot for the feedback! The residuals of the black, rotted stuff is from the border, which is glued between the Aluminium Body and the plastic plates, I think. As it was quite fixed it seemed to me I were the first one after many years opening it.
Oh, yes, well, I might still have to fully dismantle them and inspect the PCBs to analyse the noise.
Further, good to know (ser.Nr and ABL), many thanks for the notice!
(PS: You referred to „following steps“, did you want to add anything?)
Many thanks, Guy!
PS: maybe a forum admin can change the title, it sould say „Beoplay A1 coupling with A1 2nd Gen. to stereo?“ as this typo might be misleading – thanks!
ps: however, https://archivedforum.beoworld.org/forums/t/41508.aspx
Stefan tells, that CINEMA seems not to be rs232 but seems to control certain projector models/brands
Hi emabonacchi
I found following (see attached)
Indeed, the RS232 and ttl are referred to Hotel Setups where the features are not known to me; further, the monitor socket seems to be needed for BV4 or BV9, the IR1,2 could be for IR blaster to the projector, and the CINEMA socket seems to be the appropriate one for the control
I have to add, I am no expert and cannot further help.
BTW: your English seems quite good to me 😉 (I am also not a native speaker)

Working on a 1994 Trek road bike restomod project – but not without some music playing on the BeoLabs! I had two of these for less than 100 euro’s, stripped them and had the cabinets powdercoated. As they are centerchannel speakers I feed them 2xL and 2xR (tweak in the RJ45 wall outlet). They are connected to a BLC that gets the NL from an Airport Express. Happy with my (once) 6000 euro garage soundsystem 🙂
This is awesome! We clearly need to start a garage/mancave/workbench photo thread!
I agree on that – flashyour b&o garage/mancave! „Unfortunately“ I am in holidays and cannot start with own photos. Btw, the „flashyourb&o“ and „…latestaddi(c)tion“ threads were always very funny, hope, we can revive these 🙂
Best regards from the nice Austria
Hi Finisher, are – or will be – your M100‘s still in use in parallel? I am happy to read about your impression comparing these as soon as the revision is done 🙂
Hi, if I understand correctly: the crossover board is fixed wirh screws so far as I can remember. If cables are loosened Iwould fix them with cable ties. If wire came off the coil then it should be winded back to the coil (argh, but I see, these circles are just your markers). And, yes, if the coil itself is loosening then I personnally would attach it again with some hot glue (from the gun).
PS: Filip, I think I found it myself, your report in that thread
Thanks!
That is really incredible! a great era of hifi product design, very nice to see that there still exist some of them! 🙂
I just completed renovating a Beolink 5000 with new capacitors and new LCD cable (supplied by a very nice fellow on Beoworld)
Hi Filip, that is a great job, did you have to create new contacts from the solid mount of the remote to the glass of the display? I have two BL5000‘s which work in principle as soon as I hold the (loosened) glass of the display very tight to the contacting area of re remote body.
Hi Evan, I agree with Johan, that looks very good, as the „stripes“ (do you say something like that in English?) of the BV7‘s back are taken over into your design, really very nice. Is the apple tv getting on in that mount? Hopefully not very much.
Edit: btw, congrats also to the BL4000 stands! 🙂
Then, my second of two comments: Could maybe the indent while citation is applied be decreased? Otherwise only few or even only one character is displayed. Please see also the attachment.
I believe it is not easy getting all these browsers running / displaying things correctly, I keep fingers crossed …
Best regards!
