Thank you for clarification, again. ๐Ÿ™‚

So for using Bluetooth from a mobile device I should be able to send it to another Bang & Olufsen NL device and can access it from there via B&O Multiroom.

    Thank you, that helps!

And can you use your Beosound 1 GVA without Google talking or any voice prompts?
Can you pair Bluetooth devices via Bang & Olufsen app without the bad Google stuff?

Does anybody know where exactly these 2 parts belong on the Beolab 1?

    parts_feet

Unfortunately they approached me spontaneously while removing the amplifier module.
I didn’t see them in the Beolab 1 service manual and I don’t want to take apart the second Beolab 1 just to have a look.

Luckily the Beolab 1 can still be repaired by Bang & Olufsen.

Had this a few weeks ago as one of them was destroyed after a thunderstorm.

    Handling:
The Chassis containing the electronics needs to be removed from the speakers and will be shipped to the good guys in Struer and they where fast, too. ๐Ÿ™‚
Repair costed me about ~ 630 Euro plus shipping to the dealer.

That’s a much more convenient option than sending the complete speaker. If you have a B&O dealer somewhere around he should know the procedure.

For hue control, best way would be to start from scratch with their developer tutorials:

to control e.g. Philips Hue lights, you need custom strings for lamps, scenes etc.

    Found on the old forum:
    https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/16848.aspx

custom string example from member BEOJEFF:

To gradually turn off the lights:

    PUT /api/<username>/groups/0/action HTTP/1.1\0D\0AContent-Length: 39\0D\0AContent-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\0D\0A\0D\0A{\”on\”: false, \”transitiontime\”: 3000}

To gradually turn on the lights:

    PUT /api/<username>/groups/0/action HTTP/1.1\0D\0AContent-Length: 38\0D\0AContent-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\0D\0A\0D\0A{\”on\”: true, \”transitiontime\”: 3000}

This means you could use a beautiful Bang & Olufsen Essence Wall or table remote for controlling your lights, light scenesย  or whatever. ๐Ÿ™‚
The Essence remote must be set to “light mode” and you need compatible ML equipment that supports forwarding light or control commands to your MLGW.

Endless possibilities as the MLGW can control everything(!) that supports these type of HTTP/JSON control language.

As the MLGW supports custom strings via HTTP/JSON etc. it is
    – possible to use it with e.g HomeAssistant.
    – control HUE lights
    – Control all your B&O compatible equipment with ML connector through the Webinterface on Browser, Phone, Tablet
    – etc.
    – etc.

There are some great minds here in the forum and outside working on this. Don’t ask me, I’m not one of them ๐Ÿ˜‰

This will not end well for B&O… it’s not only a dangerous but sadly a dumb move.

Let’s wait until we see Beolabs, Beosounds, Beovisions from a chinese brand.

    Hi,

does anybody know if the Beosound Encore still supports DLNA?
I hope it does as DLNA runs very well with the Bang & Olufsen App, a dedicated DLNA Server and multipe B&O devices.

That sounds like a very nice hobby and I can share the fascination ๐Ÿ™‚

Than a good preamp that suits your number of input sources should be a good way. If you buy a unit with a display you may improve comfort with custom source names.
Have a look in the user manual or ask the seller if the preamp allows to rename input sources to show them accordingly in its display. For example “AM Radio” instead of “Tape”.

If it involves the term “hackers” I can imagine that it’s a little bit difficult to change the display ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, it’s still running Windows 7 due to some software that will not run on Windows 8.1 or 10.

These where just 2 examples and one out of many solutions for your problem.
If it’s elegant is a matter of personal taste. I’m using a TA-E9000ES on one of the Beosystems as many members of the family don’t think “A.Mem” or “V.Mem” are very intuitive names when they want to listen to music. When a preamp has a display and can show “Blueooth”, “Chromecast” (or any other free text) on its display it’s helpful.

You can hook up any preamp and highend preamp you like to your system and hide it in a cabinet.
    Don’t worry:
Some of those devices are much more highend than Bang & Olufsen (qality and technology).
There are preamps etc. for custom installations, too and those can be controlled through professional home automation solutions (RTI, Crestron, KNX …)

A little curious question. Would it be possible to change the TAPE command with the CD command for the Beotooth 5500?

One usecase I could seen for this is a computer using one Beotooth as speaker connection, and the other beotooth could the be used for connecting a phone

That is a good suggestion. Maybe a small swich can be integrated which chooses to which command the Beotooth will react: Tape, Tape 2, N.Music, CD …

Thank you for the photos. Yes, it looks nicer than in the press pictures and the control via Beoremote, Halo remote and app is very nice.

    But
    – the cold white led light doesn’t look as good as on the old 9000.
    – the stand looks somehow cheap and unfinished compared to the old one (at least at the photos).

Congratulations! The Asus NX90 still is such a niece piece of equipment!

Does anybody know if the display could be upgraded to a newer one? Brightness and contrast of my NX90 doesn’t fit modern standards anymore.

Very interesting device and good work!

Does it support other codes than AAC? For example aptx?

You can hook up any preampflifier you like to the 3,5mm stereo aux to usb-C adapter of your of your Beosound Theatre and then connect all desired analog (or digital, depending on the preamp’s connections) sources.

    2 random examples:

    Yamaha AVS 700
Yamaha AVS-700 Natural Sound AV Selector

    Sony TA-E9000ES:

Doesn’t the whole NL infrastructure rely on a standard called REST API or JSON?

    I found things like this:
    https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/1053298/T1LTe4Lt

    https://github.com/bang-olufsen

So there are ways to reach our B&O toys on another way.

I’m not a software develover, so maybe some better educated member can shine some light on this.

For a true sustainable system, it should have the option to add Beo4 infrared control, too. Like on the Essence MK2 and Core.

But all in all I like the new Beoconnect Core! With this aluminium design there’s no more need to hide it away. Looks nice and the AUX-Input can easily be fed by a preamp for multiple other audio sources, too.
