27 April 2025 at 10:52 in reply to: No software updates on various B&O products: Essence MK2, Beosound 1 MK1 … #65341
T.W.GGOLD MemberThanks for the helpful links of software releases.
Both Essence MK2 are stuck on version 2.x while the B&O website shows your mentioned April 2025 update with version 6.x
But the Essences and the Beosounds will not recognise that there is newer software available. All stuck a few versions earlier. T.W.GGOLD MemberThank you guys for the hints with the IP adress! 🙂
I forgot about that, searched for the hardwired Playmaker IP in the router network overview and configured them via their IP adress. Thank you.Should the Playmakers show up in the B&O app?
T.W.GGOLD MemberHappy easter,
I’m also having trouble to set up old Playmakers. The B&O app shows it, and as soon as I try to enter setup it just crahes.
BUT: The units itself are hardwired onto our home network and they just work flawless within the DLNA network.
We are using an old App from korean high end brand Astell & Kern and from there I can use ALL of my compatible B&O equipment with our DLNA audio server and play to them.
17 March 2025 at 08:09 in reply to: bluetooth adapter for headphones to connect to a beosound 9000 #64538 T.W.GGOLD MemberDo yourself a favor and buy a proper Bluetooth transmitter and not the cheapo china garbage.
After multipe devices I finally bought a
Sennheiser BT T100 Bluetooth-Audio-Transmitter
and this was the first one that simply works fine as a transmitter. This is the only one I would buy again if it fails some day. T.W.GGOLD MemberWonderful work.
Now you need to visit a shop with a Laser engraver to add the last bit of perfection 😉
T.W.GGOLD MemberThe shelf with the white subwoofer just look superb! 🙂
T.W.GGOLD MemberMy wife knows my incurable infection with the Beovirus. The original Bang & Olufsen shelf comes without lights.
That is glorious! Lovely and clean and a perfect way to neatly display your favourite smaller items 👍
Thank you 🙂
T.W.GGOLD MemberMy wife knows my incurable infection with the Beovirus. But buying an ex Bang & Olufsen retail store display shelf for my home office left her a little bit speechless and laughing 🙂
The led lighting was installed by myself. The original Bang & Olufsen shelf comes without lights.
T.W.GGOLD MemberHappy new year for all 🙂

T.W.GGOLD MemberWonderful. 🙂
12 October 2024 at 07:53 in reply to: Beoliving intelligence: Android App on Google Play Store is gone. What happened? #60047 T.W.GGOLD MemberHello Khimo team,
thank you for getting back to me and that the issue is solved!
Installed Beoliving on my new device and my blood pressure is down again to normal levels. 😉Maybe it would be a good solution to add a direct download for the IOS and Android Apps on your website or the Bang & Olufsen website, too.
T.W.GGOLD MemberI’m looking forward to the web based tool, too! Very nice effort.
If it doesn’t need the latest and greatest browser to get accessed, that would be good solution to use older devices to control B&O even if their operating system doesn’t support any other apps. 🙂
T.W.GGOLD Member? There never was an Essence with GVA? Which device did you mean? 😉
And did they exchange the physical unit or did they just flash the software of a non GVA version to it?
Is that even possible to override the software vice versa? That would be another good way to get rid of that annoying Google stuff. T.W.GGOLD MemberThank you for clarification, again. 🙂
So for using Bluetooth from a mobile device I should be able to send it to another Bang & Olufsen NL device and can access it from there via B&O Multiroom.
T.W.GGOLD MemberThank you, that helps!
And can you use your Beosound 1 GVA without Google talking or any voice prompts?
Can you pair Bluetooth devices via Bang & Olufsen app without the bad Google stuff? T.W.GGOLD Membergaribaldi70 wrote:
I took a photo of these a couple of weeks ago when mine flew off too. I put it back on a took a photo of which way around it was but exact location may be slightly further to the endThank you very much! 🙂
T.W.GGOLD MemberDoes anybody know where exactly these 2 parts belong on the Beolab 1?
Unfortunately they approached me spontaneously while removing the amplifier module.
I didn’t see them in the Beolab 1 service manual and I don’t want to take apart the second Beolab 1 just to have a look.Attachments:
You must be logged in to view attached files. T.W.GGOLD MemberLuckily the Beolab 1 can still be repaired by Bang & Olufsen.
Had this a few weeks ago as one of them was destroyed after a thunderstorm.
Handling:
The Chassis containing the electronics needs to be removed from the speakers and will be shipped to the good guys in Struer and they where fast, too. 🙂
Repair costed me about ~ 630 Euro plus shipping to the dealer. That’s a much more convenient option than sending the complete speaker. If you have a B&O dealer somewhere around he should know the procedure.
T.W.GGOLD MemberFor hue control, best way would be to start from scratch with their developer tutorials:
