GOLD MemberThank you.
nice to know before ordering:
Is the new keypad refurbished or a new designed construction? The old one was unfortunately a faulty design and all the keypads failed… it was just a matter of time.
T.W.G
GOLD MemberThank you! Looks good and identically to the original. 🙂
But hopefully the quality and reliability is MUCH better than the original.
So nice of you and B&O to bring the Beosound 3 back to life. How will “Aux in” be accessed in the later upgrade?
Please share a link when and where we can buy it (starting at week 28).
T.W.G
GOLD MemberGermany.
When can we see official pictures of the replacement panel?
Is it touch operated or real buttons?
Looking happily forward for your releasing the keyboard.
T.W.G
GOLD MemberRestoring the system only works with a working motherboard 😉
The Raspberry Pi route recreating the original interface would be the best… maybe some people in Struer like the idea, too and add support 🙂

GOLD MemberAre you located in Europe?
I would happpily participate as a beta tester if you need one. 🙂
T.W.G
GOLD MemberOk, and this is an official Bang & Olufsen solution or third party “modification”?
T.W.G
GOLD MemberThese are finally great news from B&O!
1.) So this is an upgraded Keypad AND a functionality upgrade with Aux-in?
2.) Same design as the old one to keep the aestetics?
3.) Will the core functionality of Beosound 3 be kept alive, so that I can use it again as an MP3-Alarm clock, radio etc.? T.W.G
GOLD Membersame problem here. Mainboard was exchanged by B&O a few years ago, too.
Mainboard: VIA EPIA EX15000G
In the old forums there was a discussion to somehow port the B&O stuff to a newer plattform (x86 mainboard or Raspberry Pi…) and this should be a future proof product where – in an ideal world – B&O would participate to help.
7 April 2026 at 08:37 in reply to: Want a very bass heavy cinema like system . Multiple used beolab11s worth it ? #123222 T.W.G
GOLD MemberDon’t even consider a Beolab 11 for that purpose.
The Beolab 11 was mainly intended for small speakers like Beolab 4 and very small rooms.
For heavy cinema sound I would use 2 Beolab 2 depending in your room size.If you want more defined power you could for example have a look at
SVS Subwoofers.
There should be options for every budget and they have a well known reputation for delivering the required bass power :A completely different solution if you want powerful sound to listen to live concerts with their original volume or a plane crash with its original volume are
Klipsch Horn speakers.
Due to their flat big front part, you could ask a carpenter or interior designers to finish their front according to your room to hide the speakers and their size. I have never heard something with so much power! (And yes, I’ve listened to Beolab 90 speakers in a cinema room, too.) Due to their construction they’re required to be placed in the corners of your room.https://www.klipsch.com/de/products/klipschorn-ak7
When you install a pair of these in your cinema room / living room there is no more need for a subwoofer. There’s only the need to take care of displayed fine glasses, vases or similar items in the room where the speakers are. 🙂

GOLD MemberGlad it worked.
Factory reset to get rid of Google… that’s the Google way. 😉 Thanks.

GOLD MemberBeosound 1 natural software: 6.5.57687.212515568
I enabled Chromecast for testing and did NOT see any software version.
Unchecked “share user data”.
It didn’t show up in the list of Chromecast devices either. After turning the Beosound 1 off and on again, Chromecast came to live and shows the same version number as yours.
Google Cast Version: 1.28.102057And now it works and is shown in the list of Chromecast devices. So please try the simple thing of switching it off and on again. Maybe 2 times as on the first try my Beosound 1 didn’t get back on the Wifi Network.
As I don’t use Chromecast… how to disable it again? 😀 There’s no option in the B&O app or via IP-Adress of Beosound 1.
T.W.G
GOLD MemberDid you check with the B&O app or via IP Adress of the Beosound 1 if Chromecast is enabled after the firmware update? You’ll find it in the B&O app under Settings -> Chromecast.

GOLD MemberFinally: Uploaded 386 photos
Enjoy. 🙂
For other members trying to upload their photos: I was only able to upload 12 pictures max. per upload. With that number the uploader worked flawlessly.
Thank you Mark for help and support. 🙂
T.W.G
GOLD MemberHi Mark,
I can’t upload my photos. I’m getting the following message: “This page is only available to selected BeoWorld members.”

GOLD MemberThank you for having the chance of being part of this. Looking forward meeting you all in person. 🙂
btw: Will we have the chance to meet Mr. Geoff Martin, too?
T.W.G
GOLD MemberWell done: They look like Bang & Olufsen and not like one of the 1000 brands out there in the wild. I like the design very much! The aluminium case is very nice, too!
Regarding the price:
I think they will get the “standard internet hate comments” on various websites as it seems common nowadays. Sadly. As much as I love Bang & Olufsen but their current management should overthink their pricing strategy to keep the company in the market. 🙂
T.W.G
GOLD MemberWill all lucky members attend to the event or is there a slight chance that another big B&O fan can attend, too? 🙂
14 July 2025 at 11:10 in reply to: Software for single chip computers etc. contained within products. #67023 T.W.G
GOLD MemberActually somebody has done some cloning of the old Bang & Olufsen Eproms for repair, backup, replacement:
T.W.G
GOLD MemberPlease remove all the AI(?) prompts of your post.
To be fair:
This is not a problem of B&O equipment it is a common and known problem of LiOn batteries. They degenerate over the years, become chemical and electrical instable. Remember for example the Samsung Note 7(?) phones where they had massive problems with burning phones and airlines prohibited to take these phones on flights. Exploding Apple airpods, e-bike batteries etc.
This is a common problem of LiOn and LiPo battery cells – which nobody wants to have officialy in the news. Blowing up is the first stage of fault and the next is smoke and fire.
Had those bad experiences over the years on MP3 players, Laptops, phones and PDAs.That’s the reason why I will not buy an electric car:
Imagine sitting on a 600kg LiOn Battery “expanding” or worse due to faults or aging processes of that bomb under everybodys seat in the car.
No thanks. 🙂Even for the fire service these things are a problem: The german fire department uses cranes to put burning electrical cars in a big container of water/fluids and just floods the car. They can’t do anymore since lithium doesn’t care about water trying to extinguish it.
