Hi Carolpa, was hoping for you posts! The planned set-up is not for me, but for a very friendly gentleman building a new house, that I am helping a bit to get all cabling (and user experience) right. The Core for that home is not yet purchased.
(Here is an image of my own Core, that still seems to have the primary/secondary split still:
Software is 2.4.55189.229090071, let me now what other settings you would need. Again, this is my (older) Core, that I do not control with a BR1, but use (only) to feed B&O radio and DLNA Music to two ML networks. The other Core will be bought later.)
I think it will not be the end of the world if it is not possible to play from 2 different CD players. I expect the BC2 to be used way less often than the BS9000. Priority is that the Core is away in quite remote utility room to bring all technical cable clutter out of the living space. But if there is way, why not!

Hi Madskp, hi Guy, the BC6-26 does just not cover the BeoLab bracket cavity. It is very unobtrusive though. See below image of my 6-26 on a BV7 motorized stand. I sat on the floor taking the picture.

It sure helps! I have to figure out, without having all the equipment, how this is all working.
The plan is to connect a BC2 with ML to BLC (audioslave) plus BS9000 with ML to BLC (audioslave) to allow a Core to play from either CD player! I know I can rename the sources in the BLCs, but I am not sure now if I can teach a (non BT) BR1 to distinguish them.
Hope someone fixed a similar problem and can help me.

Hi B3OHACK3R, the idea is to hide the Core quite far, maybe 20m. I was hoping that the connected IR eye would allow full BR1 functionality, incl showing specifically named sources from two BLCs. It seems not. The setup will not be very complicated, and perhaps standard Beo4 source names will do (or can be renamed even).

Hello MM, I agree the BeoRemote One is better for operating a Core. And the (standard, no BT) BR1 manual says that linked sources (in ‘my’ case from two BLCs) are visible in the source list of the remote. I am assuming they get there through 2 way IR then. I am seeking confirmation of that working with the Core and an IR eye, as the Core needs to be hidden away. Thanks! Johan

Hello, can someone from experience tell if the IR eye for the Core provides 2-way IR communication with the BeoRemote One? I expect the Core does this, seeing below chart at ‘link sources’. I am curious to know if the IR eye does it too, when the Core is out of IR sight.

Join-Play version (8089119). The port to plug the IR eye in, can only be the DPL port I reckon?

Hi MrMMMichail, that is a special remote! I doubt that the TV is ‘limited’. When you use the ‘MENU’ button, can you access and change things in the menu? Maybe you can post a picture of the menu screen, so I can compare that with my Mk3.
A big difference with a regular remote is that it misses the ‘LIST’ button, under which you can add various commands. And you said motorized stand, can you control that now?

Hi eprokos, two suggestions:
– when you connect the Beolab 18 directly to the Theatre, all is good?
– you could obtain a little tester (as below) to check correct continuity of all connections
I expect that the colored wires in the Powerlink cable are flexible, and the copper core inside consists of many fine strands. The ABB terminal expects one thick solid copper core inside each wire (as you have with in wall ethernet cables). The little ‘knives’ cut the isolating plastic and ‘bite’ into the solid copper core of ethernet cables. With the flexible wires of the Powerlink cable this might not work so well.
In my home I have the exact same RJ45 terminals: one close to the speaker, one close to the audio device, connected in wall with CAT7 solid core installation cable. Between the terminal and the speaker/audio device, I use a Powerlink cable. Works very well.

Hello Eprokos, when used properly, your socket should be good.
Is the white/brown wire not missing on PIN 7? The back of the terminal is missing (here the braided shield is connected to the housing. The braided shield should not be close to where the colored wires are punched in, you risk shorts. Have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlU2P12gDso
From the Beolink handbook 1.9, this should be the wiring schedule for PowerLink cabling:
To me it looks like you should carefully redo the wiring. Best is to use solid wire core wires. Between two wall sockets (or patch panels) you can also use good quality standard CAT7 S/FTP wiring in 568-B pinout configuration (see the top color scheme in your socket).

I lately refoamed these for a colleague. About time 🙂
I just touched up the metal of the drivers with a black marker as they will be playing with (freshly washed) frets.

Hi Madskp, I managed to rub off the sticky coating with methylated spirit (the blue smelly stuff), and found a gloss black paint underneath. My original idea was to have the housing sandblasted and powdercoated, but I abandoned that and am happy enough with the original black (undercoating) paint. Saves quite a bit of (dis)assembly. Is it possible that it has to do with the possibility to ‘rename’ the BeoSound 5’s N.MUSIC to CD or A.MEM? A snip from the BS5 userguide:
Though you say that it is possible to use CD and RADIO? That would make my suggestion at least inconsistent. Anyway, maybe it helps in finding the answer.
