I think it is an extremely bad idea from what I have heard.  The reason being the BS5 is running a very old version of windows and it is incredibly insecure with lots of security issues that can easily exploited to get on your network and god knows what.

Perhaps try getting a Beosound 2 or BS9000 for your CD’s.

If you ONLY had the 17’s I think B&O would recommend you use them as rears as they would help fill the space around you better and bring more bass to the back of the room.  However the 2500’s aren’t the most modern or powerful speakers so using them as front L/R might overwhelm them. At the very least they will not sound anywhere as good as having the 17’s in the front.

The 2500 would be good as rear surround speakers as they would really just be filling the void of sound behind you which are never really all that loud or demanding.  Paired with the 17’s at the front it should all sound very impressive.

Since the theatre won’t be using the L/R built in speakers you can re-assign them to act as Centre (if that sounds too wide is up to your own taste) or you can set them to Sub Centre speakers for an extra kick.

I also have home assistant but it only seems to work with my newer Mozart B&O stuff. Did you have success with older hardware?

I don’t know about the Wiim Ultra but I assume you cannot use the B&O app to control anything if you do. A pre-amp can be had for about $100 so I wouldn’t worry about getting one built in.

The Essence, Core both have an EQ of sorts (But you don’t really need it as it configures for your speakers on its own).  Even better you get full use of the B&O app and you can use remotes from your phone, iPad, Mac as well as the Essence remote (super good) and the Halo remote. Not to mention you also get all your streaming services this way.

First get any old Pre-amp for the turntable.

Then you can get a Essence Mark 2 (cheapest option but works great) to connect everything.

Alternatively you can get a Core previous or current gen but there won’t be many advantages to them and it will cost much much more.

How was it different from using an Essence or Core?

If you don’t care about Bass and they are cheap enough go for it. They would use older Powerlink Cables which should come with the system or speakers.

Can’t you also use the later version of AirPort Express?

I wonder how much some of the custom colours are for the Beolabs.

Perhaps take another shot at cleaning the laser that detects the open door.

I have a new laser and this sometimes happens with me when I don’t properly place the disk securely in the slot.  I just take out the disk and make sure it’s snugly in there and its fine.  Perhaps this is something different for you?

Thank you. I designed the furniture and had it built around the equipment 🙂

And just a repeat of what other have said about this sketchy update:

When we got the whole thing open, we were in for an even bigger surprise: turns out the Beoplay Eleven is an exact copy of the three year-old, $400 Beoplay EX! There are some key software changes and the microphones have been upgraded to better deliver ANC performance—but that’s it. Everything else inside these buds is a carbon copy. Even the peel-away film on the rear of each earbud says “Beoplay EX”—not “Beoplay Eleven.”

This last point is for you hardware nerds. You might be surprised (or not), but the hardware inside the Beoplay Eleven doesn’t scream premium. Quite the opposite, from the control board to the wiring, a side by side comparison of the Beoplay Eleven buds and the Airpods 4 buds show how far behind the Beoplay Eleven is in terms of hardware design.

Just design I would NOT call the Theatre Average at all. Its pretty spectacular.

Personally I would also not touch the harmony as the screen is built in and is the first thing to go outdated or broken.
