I am having similar problems. Sometimes it takes a long time for the LG to turn on and the screen displays a message that it is not connected. Also sometimes sound comes on but no picture. And, sometimes when act rolling through channels or ffwd or rwd a recorded program the screen will become non responsive to the BR1, then go blank and say Theatre has disconnected, then screen comes back and says reconnected. I have sent logs to BeoCare and videos of how the TV acts. They say they are working on it and will get back to me.
Shared bass is one of the reasons I purchased the Theatre. I found the video very interesting when I watched it a few weeks ago.
I have never found the 1s shrill, although I know many others do. I have found them very warm. I used them as rears for years with a BV7 and 9s, until I moved them to be fronts in another room. At the time my wife was nit happy as she loved them as rears, as did I. With the Theatre I have returned them to the room as rears. The sound is amazing!
I was thinking of the 19 possibly being in the rear. But, the more I listen to the system, the less I think I need a 19. The bass is incredible already. Also, I read on Geoff Martin’s blog that if a 19 is connected to a Beovision with BL9s, the the 19 will receive no sound as the BV will direct all bass to the 9s as they have a better sub in them. With 28s as fronts I am seriously wondering if the 19 would add much if anything.
I wonder what would happen if I connected one of my 9s to the Theatre but told the Theatre it was 19? LOL. Just for fun and as a test of course.Finished setting up my Theatre
My dealer seems to be suggesting that the with the Theatre redirecting bass to the 19 instead of sending all to the 28s and 1s, the overall sound would be improved.
Very much enjoyed it.
Thanks! And a question that is tangentially related to this thread. I am trying to add a speaker to the Theatre with a BeoReceiver 1. That is how I will connect the 9s although right now have a 6000 connected to it. The Theatre sees the BR1, plays a tone from the 6000 when doing the room sense, but does not add the 6000. I see no option to identify what kind of speaker is connected to the receiver and am wondering if that is perhaps why it is not adding it. Anyway to identify the speaker?
Reading the comments here makes me even more eager to try my 9s as rears.
unfortunately I am sick with Covid right now so am lacking the energy to do so.Thanks! I am setting up my Theatre this evening.
I just traded in a pair of 12-3s that I was using as rears with a BV 7. I was very unimpressed with them.
The delay of my Theatre is the shipping company. The curtains stopped working on one of my 28s. B and O is sending me two replacement BL28s. The shipping company decided to hold the Theatre so they could ship/deliver it and the 2 new 28s as one shipment.
I don’t know what the delay is. I was given an eta of last Wednesday or Thursday. Then I was told it would be delivered on Friday. Then I was told it shipped on Friday and I should receive it the first part of this week. The first part (Monday and Tuesday) have now come and gone and still no Theatre. I also have a new BL 28 coming as a warranty replacement for one of my 28s that the curtains stopped working on. It was also due last week and I have had no updates on it.
I am still waiting for my (delayed) Theatre. As soon as it arrives I will be trying my 9s as rears, and either my 6000s or 4000s in an effort to decide if if I want the 18s my dealer is holding for me.
That is what I have been thinking about the 9s. The extra bass from them with the processing power of the Theatre might be amazing. Combining that with the fact it appears that Dolby now recommends that the surrounds be lower to increase the separation between the height (virtual or real if I am understanding it correctly) speakers is making me think the 9s will be the right choice.
I am going to try the 9s and a pair of 6000s I have and see what effect the added height has, or if I can even notice any difference due to the height, given the overall huge difference between the speakers.
Call me a pessimist but I am guessing wireless won’t work well for me either. That is why I decided to spend the money on a receiver to test how it works in my house before taking delivery of 18s.
That is what I am going to do with the 9s once the Theatre arrives. But I have never had an opportunity to hear 18s, but in some ways they might look better in the room.
Room is about 15 feet by 17 feet. Seating is one end of room. Speakers just to the side and slightly behind the seating.
I have a pair of 1s I was considering using also. But, having read that with Atmos a lower level is preferred, as you mentioned, I have decided against using the 1s.
My Theatre is due next week so am looking forward to trying the 9s. My dealer is holding a pair of 18s for me that I bought, but if I decide to go with the 9s, will get a refund.Glad to hear the 18s described as amazing! Have also considered using my 9s as rears, but think they are too short.
