So how does Theatre know there is something connected? My assumption was some speaker role was added (even if manual addition and even if it is seen as Receiver 1 but may have any speaker connected to it).

Obviously, I’m unable to simulate this. Assumed something in “edit positions”

I’ll let Beojeff fill-in the details on that but this is something I’ve seen before.

Looks like some sort of coding in the record sleeve with FLAC playback?

That does sound a little odd to me, and not what my dealer explained to me. He has a listening room with height / ceiling speakers with his Theatre setup – and he was quite clear that if there are specific external speakers allocated a particular role, then the Theatre speakers with the same role would be disabled i.e no duplication. Whether something has changed, or whether there is a difference between normal and beta software, I dont know. But the above is how he explained things (using his setup as an example) to me.

My experience is a lot of the time Dealers don’t know the full potential or limitations of the equipment – especially new releases.

Then again, it may be just a bug or the lack of development?

Then again, it may be that Room Sense feels some extra help us needed? Who knows? I think it can be infuriating to many but there are solutions to an extent where you can drop or boost the the channel output to a min/max of the driver if that is what you feel is good. A lot of the time, many customers only discover what can/cannot be changed several weeks into ownership…..and then, many software updates!

Im guessing, but I assume the Theatre is “helping out” the BL3s?

I don’t have any height satellite speakers (as yet) and the Theatre is firing its height speakers, but the front and L/R firing are not contributing just like yours.

Dont have BL28s, myself, but Im guessing you first need to pair the BL28s together in the BeoApp before the Theatre.

Then add the PL cable from the “master” to the Theatre (assuming you daisy-chain to the Slave BL28). You can also connect them via WISA if you wish?

Hello everybody, I ordered BS Theater with a pair of BL28. I will use wired PL and Ethernet to BL28. In which order should I setup my system? BL28 first then BSTH or opposite?

Good question and it depends on how you use them. I would imagine that the the BL28 and Theatre integrate together anyway for music and video. As Ive mentioned previously with my BL90s (a couple of generations behind the BL28s in terms of integration) is you set your loudspeakers up first as a standalone.

Once done, set the Theatre up as Centre only, as a Surround system (Theatre/BL28) and as BL28 on its own (within the Theatre system) using the listening positions control and room-sense.

This way, I guess that if you want to use BL28 on its own with its integrated sound (or injected 3rd party sound) for music, you can do without troubling the Theatre. If your sources come via the Theatre (DNLA/Radio/Video etc..), you can chose the sound playback based on the source. For example:-

                          1. If I want to critically listen to music (Qobuz or my ripped library via my Auralic) I start the BL90s directly via Auralic signal trigger.
                          2. If I watch Live TV, the source selection, plays Centre only, Custom sound mode
                          3. If I listen to ripped music (lower quality) with LG Media player (via the Theatre), triggers BL90 wide mode, music sound mode.
                          4. If I watch Kaleidascope video (hi-Res), Bl90/BL3/Theatre triggers in movie mode

Clearly says C9 is not supported and is considered a third party screen. Surprised your Dealer did not inform you?

The BeoApp on the TV just tells me to finish the setup inside the B&O app on the iPhone.

Hi, Sorry if this comes across as patronising but Im just trying to nut-out your problem in my head. Sorry if Im being a little circular.

                                  There are two Apps required:-

                                  1. The LG (LG B&O App – which is loaded from LG and resides in the TV) and
                                  2. The BeoApp which is from B&O and is on you iPad or Android phone

I assume you have these steps? The LG Panel indicates a loaded App and the LG Home Dashboard App?

I assume you have internet connected to the Theatre? Fully close your mobile device Beoapp.

Reset the Sound bar by pressing << and >> together for 8 seconds.

Dont restart the BeoApp in your mobile device until the TV and Theatre have rebooted and LEDs have stopped blinking.

The BeoApp should take you through a number of steps (buttons are pictures).

                                  1. Press the button picture to load the LG Remote control App (this is done, but clears the button away)
                                  2. Press pair a BR1 remote. The Theatre should auto-find and pair the BR1
                                  3. If you have some control now, you should be up and running. Finish the Theatre setup on your mobile device.

With respect to your Dealer, I would get him involved. He made himself party to you and the Theatre the moment you sent him money and he ordered your equipment. Territory or not. He cannot be reluctant and needs to support you and he can call, email and help……rather than Beoworlders doing his job.

You paid a good deal of hard-earned cash for a flagship product. It should be perfect – including it working as well as it can for the C9 panel. Additionally, if the C9 Panel is completely non-functional with the Theatre, he should have warned you about it being non-compatible before ordering.

The C9 will work with Stage but zero funtionality with Theatre? The BeoApp on the C9 even acknowledges that a B&O product is connected.

Even more baffling? That says something is not right?

I assume you have used the B&O eARC cable and have it installed the correct way (if indicated) and checked the socket positions match?

what does the LG panel say. There is another LG app there that shows connections to the panel. Is that showing Theatre? Other than that, better get the Dealer to come and help.

My comment would be to compare both units and if you feel the panel fit is lacking quality fit, take it up with you Dealer.

Dealer May fob you off and tell you that it is normal product variation and within spec or there may be a way for a technician to come and adjust the centricity? If there is noise contact of surfaces as they on open/close, then your case is strengthened for poor QA;QC.

As you know, these are not cheap products and you are entitled to complain if not entirely satisfied at that price point.

I’m on the G2 not C9. Different OS. I could be totally wrong?

I’m just going off the assumption that the LG Beo app is a cute way to extend the HDMI-CEC command set both devices have. Hence defferent degrees of integration for different panels. You should get some, not all commands with it being LG and I imagine the high level HDMI-CEC would be almost native to one another?

To add….as it may make a difference, the first-time process I went through….

                                          1. Switch-on LG Panel, Register with LG (nothing to do with B&O).
                                          2. Download B&O LG app and execute (links Theatre to LG Panel comms)
                                          3. Pair BR1 to Theatre via the BeoApp pairing

It may be that the C9 has issues but I cant imagine that it is non-responsive. I assume compatibility is based on the LG B&O App and mapping within the C2 and G2 models. So I assume you may not get into the weeds of the LG panel deep settings with the BR1 ,but it should communicate Theatre to LG channel and source changes.
