Are you sure that that is the right cable?

I was recommended – and bought – this one and an adapter cable piece, when I wanted to connect my Essence MK2 to a Passive driving my CX100 in the kitchen (so basicly same scenario).

That works perfectly!

Für diesen Oldtimer ist keine Nachrüstung möglich – es gibt für keine von den B&O-geräten Nachrüstmöglichkeiten!

Beocenter 9300 hat jedoch Anschlussmöglichkeit für externe Geräte…….DAB+ adapter gibt es jede Menge auf dem Markt.
Diese müssen dann extern bedient werden.

Die einzige Möglichkeit – die ich kenne – für eine einigermaßen integrierte Lösung ist die von Oneremote.dk.

I agree regarding the settings of the ATV!

Furthermore please read the article that Geoff Martin wrote years ago on his website.

Here are the main points:

”……you still find that the dialogue is a little hard to understand, and the surrounds are a little hot (this is often the case when your sofa and the surround loudspeakers are all situated against the same wall, you should not be afraid to do the following:

make the centre channel one or two milliseconds early. You can do this by telling your surround processor that it’s about 30 to 60 cm farther away than it really is.
raise the level of the centre channel 1 or 2 dB
drop the level of the surrounds as much as necessary – in my experience, it’s not unusual to have to drop them by as much as 6 dB if you’re against the same wall with them. (Note that, if you have a BeoPlay V1, a BeoVision 11 or a BeoSystem 4, you can do this using the “Fader” adjustment in the Sound menus. This will merely control the relative levels of the Front and Surround / Back loudspeakers – so it’s a one-fader solution to doing it manually for each loudspeaker output.)”

The Almando products have been discussed here several times throughout the years.

There are mixed reviews….often people returns to a B&O solution (the BS Theatre) after a while.

I would advice to wait for posts with positive reviews for Almando, before purchasing – in the meantime you could search the forums including the old ones.

Personally I am looking forward to the solution from Neomesteren. – the products, that they have up ‘till now, are excellent.

Anyway – it will be very hard to get the integration with projector/screen and tv, that you aim for.
Tv’s are getting bigger and bigger, which leaves less need for B&O to provide this kind of solution.
That said….it might be possible with a great deal of DIY.
Some have used a BeoSystem 4.

Running a BS Theatre with a projector/screen solo, however is not a big problem, but you will probably need a professional installer for that.

As for ‘Brodersen timer etc’ – I have no idea…never heard of that.

Finally:
I agree with Peter in his post: “you need to think about what you want to achieve”.

Best luck finding the best solution.

Yes, that is true!
You simply ‘tell’ the Theatre which speakers are connected and the DSP takes that into account, when you do the setup/the Room Compensation, the Listening Groups…….

As for which speakers – this is hard to say, because it depends on your room/placement options, your needs/wishes, your budgets.
The BL4’s can be used, however most people would advice you to stay away from them – they often fail.

Height speaker at the back surely are recommended, but only if you also have surrounds…the 18’s is a good choice for this/for surrounds.

Many people would place the 18’s up front, because they primarily want to listen to music from them. Again…it depends on your room and your wishes/needs.
In case you’d place the 18’s as fronts, use any other speakers as surrounds.
An old golden rule is to recomment using the same (type) of speakers for fronts and surrounds.
The heights then can be added along the way – especially, if you are primarily watching movies and/or listening to music in Atmos.

Why not simply keep the 3200 and connect the WiiM there.

If you dislike the presence of the 3200, go for an Essence MK2, a Beosound Core – they can be hidden away.
Just connect the WiiM to the Line-in there, if you are not pleased with the options, that the Essence/Core offers.

These two B&O devices would give you the option of having a (B&O) remote control, by the way.

You will not be able to turn on the 5’s this way!

A quote from Steve in another related post (there are several, if you search here):

“Unfortunately with Beolab 5 it is not possible to activate the speakers via a voltage trigger – a coded Datalink signal is needed (either via the Powerlink socket or IR remote control) in order to wake the speakers before use.”

I had that too – the post was reactivated after connecting the admins.

Seems to be a bug…..something that automaticly happens.
Maybe the admins should look into that.
