    Hello everyone

I find myself the proud owner of a pair of Beovox P50 speakers, a gift from an old friend. I cleaned them up, plugged them in, and was absolutely amazed by the sound. These speakers are at least 51 years old. And yet. The sound is warm, rich and rounded whilst at the same time clean, with good separation. Bass is surprisingly rich and powerful from these small woofers. In short I’m amazed by the sound quality.

I also find them somewhat romantic as objects in their own right, and I’m really keen to restore them to their best. I found this forum by accident and just wanted to say hello.

My set are in excellent condition, woofers flex nicely, mid speaker is still “sticky”, tweeters seem to be working just fine. The only problem is the a previous owner had a problem fixing the baffles. The sticky pads obviously weren’t up to a 50 year lifespan, so he took a hot melt glue gun to them…

Suffice to say the speaker mesh fabric is ruined, and needs to be replaced. I’ll be doing that replacement over the coming weekend and will post a couple of photos, let you know how I get on. Bye for now. Mark, UK
