Thank you Matador for the Link. I still have the drivers, but I’m not sure I have the skill you have. But your Beolab 8000 wood frets did encourage me some time ago to do the same to my Beolab 8000’s and they look great! Thank you!

    Hi Dillen,

Thank you for your kind response.

The repair shop also said if the coils needed work, that would be another $85 per woofer for a total of :$560!  I ended up getting some Dayton Classic Woofers that fit after I used a dremel to widen the recess opening in the baffles just a tiny bit. I hope this doesn’t stumble you… But they did sound a lot better with working woofers. After I used my Wiim Room/Speaker correction they sound even better. I did save the original woofers – just in case one day I will try to fix them.

ps: I bought Caps from Danish Sound Parts last year for my MC120 and it really made the treble come to life!

    Dear Matador,

Could I please have your input.

I’m in the USA and 4mm sticks are not very common here. The closest is 1/8” or 3.2 mm. Do you think 3.2 mm would work? Or would the fret be too weak? If yes, if I glue the larger side pieces will the fret be strong enough? I’m also thinking a thinner stick should also have less effect on the sound. The sticks here are only available in locations far from me and the shipping costs are high. So I hope to have your input before buying the wood. Which is Basswood – a very light wood used in building model airplanes.

thank you for your patience in helping so many of us with your great project!

    Gregg
