I cannot answer your question directly but here is my experience…

I also have a Mk3 analogue only BV7/40. The “picture board” failed. It was replaced under warranty and then suddenly I had digital channels! I have often questioned whether there is a Sat receiver in there somewhere too? Short of connecting a dish and trying it I don’t know but via operation there is nothing to suggest that it is not there? It all behaves as if it is there. Unfortunately the digital freqs were changed a year or so ago so i have now lost the digital channels and of course there is no analogue so it is only useful for Chromecasting now?

I have one as a bedroom TV and would be totally p11sed if it went u/s. To me this is a somewhat modern TV? My Beovision LX6000( bought new in 1995) is still going 100% with no mx ever! The world is simply going backwards!

Common fault. ALL Beograms of that era have or will suffer. One end of the rigging which controls the tonearm movement sits under tension on a plastic post and eventually breaks the post. Glueing back will not last. The solution is to replace the post with a self tapping screw. Getting the rigging back together correctly will fray your nerves! Check out videos on YT showing clearly what is involved. It can be done, I did mine but it is a frustrating job. Good luck.

Just a little story to ponder…

A couple of years ago I sold a vintage TEAC reel to reel on eeebay in UK for 1000+ pounds paid for with paypal. The buyer after a few days demanded a return for refund which was agreed to. What came back was a stripped of parts machine badly smashed up in a poorly packed wet cardboard box that offered no protection at all. All atempts to communicate with the buyer went ignored so a case was opened against him with paypal. Despite evidence and photos to prove the case paypal refused any action or protection. I have since had a similar issue with them. So paypal is no sure guarantee unfortunately.
