BRONZE MemberThere is no problem to use the Lyngdorf with Beolab 5, I did it many years, it is absolutely transforming the sound coming out from the Beolab 5 after running the RoomPerfect setup, it is really night and day. As long as you don’t use the Speakers output, you only use the PREAMP part of the Lyngdorf.
I don’t have experience connecting them by line in, possibly you will be able to control the volume with the Lyngdorf and power them on. Give it a try and you will see, don’t forget to set the Lyngdorf not full range and start with volume at -50.
But it would really be a pity to not use the full path in digital and use the BL5 internal DAC that is truly excellent. But you will need a Beo4, that’s for sure.

Think I pretty much said that…..
“Do not send an Amplified signal as this will damage the BL5s. IIRC 2V is the max analogue voltage.
If there is a non-DAC coax output or line level it should be OK but please please confir with BnO”

BRONZE MemberThanks for the replies!
I will connect the BL5 from RCA line out (not speaker connections!) with variable level and not set to full range (max volume). Will give it all a try and let you know of the results.
Question 1: is there a way to factory reset the BL5’s, i.e., neutralize prior room/bass adaptions? Would prefer to use only the Lyngdorf’s RoomPerfect instead based on a neutral BL5.
Question 2: is it possible to make adaptions to the 5v trigger signal from the Lyngdorf to become 2v (B&O standard(?)) to activate the BL5’s when starting up the Lyngdorf, and thereby avoid the necessary use of a Beo4 remote?
Thank you again!

Hi
Can you explain how you connect the Lyngdorf to the Beolab 5? I am trying to find out how to get the best sound out of my Beolab 5s – Beoconnect Core or Bluesound or Lyngdorf or …. Currently I use Essence mrk 2 and want to upgrade.
Thanks
Jørgen

BRONZE MemberHello everybody,
I‘m going for a dedicated streamer next month. At the moment I‘m running an Apple TV 4K. Plugged in via an audio/video splitter by Feintech to work with my Beosystem 3.
I think the Bluesound Node N130 is my option. Wiim Pro could be the 2nd place.
Anyway.. how would you connect it? My Beosystem 3 is in a different room. The Beolab 5‘s are connected via MK2 Powerlink. Here are the options:
1 Beosystem 3 Digital SPDIF im and use the DAC in the BS3(?).
2 Beosystem 3 analog in to use the Bluesound DAC.
3 Bluesound direct to the BL5 with digital in to use the BL5 DAC.Please let me know. I would try every option. But If you tell me you would always feed the BL5 digital I would consider a streamer without a DAC.
Thank you!

What did you end up doing?
