Actually, the Home Dashboard can be pulled up with just three clicks of the Beoremote One: Menu (the house icon), Down, Enter.

Ok so I got the BR1 remote when I got the Theatre end of Oct.  I find it to be a terrible remote so I never use it. Maybe once a week to change the volume at best. The battery ran out today at 3 months.  The fact that we are in 2023 and this thing isn’t rechargeable or have motion detection so it always lights up the screen AND keys is crazy. Well… off to find that tiny tool so I can take the remote apart into 5 pieces to change a battery…

I love my BeoremoteOne ? A paperclip will do for opening the remote ?

I’m new to the BR1 too and have yet to see the initial Varta batteries die. They were fairly simple to install. TBH I just buy a pack of Duracell ultra from Costco and I’m glad there’s no charger, cables, connectors or other broccoli (unnecessary paraphernalia) with the remote.

Ya just 4 pieces and a tool to change a battery.  Must better than a USB C port that is in every house already.

For me, yes. Id rather change the batteries every 3 months or so than charge it every week.

Each to there own, but give me a motion detected back-light and I’ll happily keep the remote when not in use in a charging cradle.

Where in the world do you get the idea it needs charging every week? You’re thinking of the Halo which because of bad software and a tiny battery lasts only days.

The physical BR1 is HUGE, they could fit a giant battery in there if they wanted to.

My Apple TV remote is 1/10 the size of the BR1, I use it every day for hours on and off. I can also play games with it.  I charge the battery every 8 months tops.

A tiny screen like on the BR1 that only activates for short periods should last a very long time.

Anyone know when the next update is due, I’m in Auz and running v2.3.4, it’s mid Feb and haven’t heard anything, was hoping the rear wireless speakers using the receiver 1,  would be sorted by now. Is there a site where you can manually download the next update or does anyone have it?

I think the newest update has been withdrawn? Either it was not well received by the Beta group that received it, or there were other Beo-Products which did not react too well to the new code?  I may be wrong here but it may be the re-introduction of the Emerge may have caused the problem?

Still very content with the theatre even with left and front firing disabled on the bar. Its a awesome center channel in a multiple speaker setup.

for music i do have to prefer the beolabs 9 in direct mode. To bad the Theatre is a very expensive core in this regard. The Theatre doesn’t beat the 9’s Music wise. That has to do all with stereo Imaging. How good the Theatre is it won’t be as good as 2 separate stereo speakers, it makes up for that being very spacious.

i’m considering buying 28’s for front and putting the 9’s in the back. Demo’d the 28’s last week but i’m kinda dissapointed. They lack the punch of the 9’s in my opinion. Might need a Beolab 19 for that punch. Maybe I need to give them another change. Or maybe a second hand beolab 20’s?

interesting – I’ve gone a different route with my Theatre, with respect to the l/r front firing speakers.

Certainly for regular TV watching, I have a listening position with all 3 front firing enabled, and its quite different (as I’m sure you know), and now I much prefer having all 3 in play.

I was only prompted to play around with engaging the other 2 front firing after reading the Theatre sound guide – there is a paragraph which says that for those with large external front speakers attached to the Theatre, it may well be preferable to engage all 3 front firing…..so thats what I tried (I have 50s attached), and I actually do prefer it, as the guide suggested.

I was going to say the same about the software update… the last one came out almost 3 MONTHS ago which is far too long for a new product like this with this many bugs and weird UI elements. I really expected more updates more often.

Your experience pretty much matches mine, as another BL9 user. Regarding prefering Direct mode for music, Geoff has said an update is coming that might resolve that.

I have had 2 pair of 9’s sold one pair kept the other in the bedroom. (Made them white so they blend in a bit)

You either love them or hate them. I like them a lot otherwise I would not have bought a second pair. I do not like the 20 it is a bit more clinical. I doubt a 19 will do anything with the 28 though? Why don’t you ask the shop to hook one up for you so you can listen.

I had the 9s, sold them for the 20s- that was a big mistake- to my ears anyway.

The 20s lack presence and although in theory have more bass, in fact its far less than the 9s apart from the more accentuated bass lines -it must be the DSP making them sound clinical – one thing they share with the 9s though  is a lack of midrange.
The 28s are a sigificant setp forward for normal listening, its  a different experience , warm and precise- however for a party at full volume they wont meet the requirements as a lab20 if thats what rocks your boat!

Or go to the end of the past posters comment, press return, return and then “” on the post toolbar

Same, new remote with Theatre, batteries replaced yesterday – 8 maybe 9 weeks!

I bought BR1 new with my BS TH, batteries last about 4 weeks. I called my dealer and he told me it’s a known SW issue related to BS TH. Meanwhile B&O fix the issue I am offered batteries free of charge….
