My Beogram cd 7000 still doesn’t read cds after recapping the servo board. I am inclined to replace the laser unit but have the following question. The player is fitted with a cdm-4/56 but I can source a second hand cdm-4/19 which frame seems different. Will I have to exchange the laser itself leaving the original frame and is it easily done?

Yes sure. Here it is. I checked the soldering today and turned around the red cap supplied by Beoparts. The player started OK but when I moved it to the amp it did not read the cd anymore.

Hi All! I am continuing to have issues with my Beogram cd7000 and have replaced all 6 capacitors from Beoparts. The player have played 1 cd and have switched off, and now it does not read any cds. It shows the same behaviour as when I was replacing the c2103 with non Philips components. Any idea what to check next?

Re: CD issue. I intend changing the caps. Do you know if the caps controlling the laser are situated on the laser mechanism?

Re: Radio issue. The caps of the power supply seem an easy option. Are these the main caps for the power of the unit? By lithium cell do you mean a battery? Is there a battery in rhw unit?

I wanted to check the caps first to be sure the problem is there but understand that they need to be disconnected from the board first? If the problem is 100% caps then indeed makes sense changing them all. Another problem I have is that the radio stopped scanning FM and it only scans MW and SW although the model is EU and only has FM tuner. Do you think this might be from the caps as well?

Thank you for your comment. Do you think i can check the caps on the circuit? Do you think these are the caps on the laser cdm or on the cd circuit?

Hi Keith. Are you able to give any further advice on the next step. I am not sure on how to use the table and on the next steps. Thank you!

Thank you Keith! Have entered into test mode and got a “1”. Have also downloaded the service manual but not sure what to do next. Is it a question of testing the different elements with a voltmeter? Is there a way of resetting the radio so that it goes back to FM mode? Thank you again.

The label is partially damaged bit i agree it is a European model hence only theFM socket and the Mode button does not livht up. However the problem still remains that I can’t switch it back to FM. It goes 522-1611 (MW) and then after pressing Tune + StepĂ— 279-150 (AM) After pressing the same buttons goes back to MW.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I could not find the 3 digit number but the serial number is 2457516 and I am pretty sure the system is imported from Danmark. Any suggestions?
