New beta out. Haven’t noticed anything new. Sources still broken.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberOn my iPad it looks this way.
Of course that looks different due to the different form factor.
The previous version looked full screen and proper on iPad.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberI can live with the app if they just fix the missing sources and fix the compatibility when you use the iPad App on your desktop Mac.
v5.5.1 hasn’t fixed any of that sadly.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberLooks like app version 5.5 released. I’m not at home right now, but has anyone tried it yet to see if it fixed the missing sources issue?
No sadly, it’s still a hot mess.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberAs of today my Theatre is on 3.2.1(150) from September 11. Which version is of that you mention as ‘new…today’?
Here is the “New today” version.
“Bug fix and support for beolab 8’s.”
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberNew firmware for the theatre today. Bug fix and support for beolab 8’s.
On a side note ive discovered a bug that effects my theatre when it does a firmware update. After the update even though the theatre is OFF there is a loud low hum coming from all the connected speakers that doesn’t stop. Only when I power on the theatre does it go away.
Anyone else see this?
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberFrom a UX perspective the designers at B&O need to understand that when you choose another speaker to add to multi-room the first thing it does it make a big yellow bar fill up to the right of the volume bar which gives the impression that it is going to play at full volume. It’s a really poorly done.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberBRONZE MemberSo version 5.4.1 just came out and it is still a total disaster and I’ll be downgrading.
It isn’t showing sources properly at all.
A9 shows nothing but 2 line inputs (Why 2?) and no option for B&O radio or anything else.
My essence shows only line in.
My Theatre shows online USB C line in.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberI am having the same issue with only line in appearing for my Essence. No options for B&O radio anymore.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberWhy do we want transparent screens? So you can see the wall behind the image as you watch TV?
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberI really hope they fix this serious issue ASAP. they have been very slow with all Theatre releases which was my main concern when buying it a year ago. It should NOT be in this software state so long after its been released.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberI’m hoping for a replacement for the BL3 to add to my theatre as hight Speakers
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberSo how will the touch panels on the BL8 work if it is hooked up to a system like the theatre. Will hitting PLAY cause the whole 5.1 system to play (hopefully) or will the 2 BL8 speakers just play independently (God I hope not)?
Maybe someone with some 28’s can comment?
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberWhat is going on with the total lack of Airplay 2 and Chromecast? That’s a total pass for me without it.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberHi, The fluid sweet spot requires Ultra Wide-band connectivity which I don’t think was available when Beolab 28 was developed. Kind regards, Steve.
Really makes you wonder why the Theatre doesn’t have this feature either, plus the 28’s come out in 2021. UWB works with iPhone 11 and up which shipped in September 2019.
Im sure we are all confident that with the Mozart platform we are all getting this upgrade right? 😀
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberNice little speaker. It seems that the ‘Bang & Olufsen’ logo is lit when turned on. Like it!
Could it be a render error? In any event, I would hope that in configuration this could be disabled. Call me a fossil, if you will, but I loved the old green light/red light signifiers.
“Beolab 8’s beam width control lets you switch seamlessly between two listening experiences. Narrow down with precision audio channelled directly to you. Or go wide and diffuse sound throughout your space. Which mode is it in? The LEDs on the front will enlighten you.”
So it’s not a rendering error and I 100% doubt you can turn off the lights as it’s a UX feature.

Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberI would do it yourself with help from them or a friend.
Location: Toronto, CanadaBRONZE MemberWhere is the woofer in this? Is it inside firing up?
