SILVER Memberthe location of the sound seems to come from the part in the picture. I touch it using a plastic handle and I felt the vibration. I did not felt it elsewhere.
Is that something that can be repaired ? How ?

SILVER MemberI open the TV and did a cleaning of the dust. Not too much as I did not wanted to damage something.
I read a lot about THT discharge and thought it might be the origin of the buzzing sound, but it is not. I did discharge it, clean everything and put back a slight touch of specific grease.
I made a video and the sound seems to come from the bottom where there are a coil or something like that. Here is a video (link only available for 2 days) : https://streamable.com/9yuifk
Did anyone have an idea of the origin of the sound ? And a way to mitigate it ?
Cheers,
S.

SILVER Memberthe buzzing sound is quite annoying. It doesn’t seem to come from the speaker, but from the bottom of the TV. I will remove back cover and try to locate the origin of the sound.
I got the service manual from the site but the scan is not very good and the list of mechanical parts is unreadable. I can do a high res scan if someone send me the manual 🙂

SILVER MemberI was able to do it almost alone (the bigbosswifey helps me targeting the holes when I was moving the TV). It was heavy but I did it and it fits perfectly. It was a breeze to secure by pushing the 2 handles simultanously.
The TV is working, at least in got the picture. I am able to play with the menu. I need to plug a console to test it. I notice a buzzing sound that seems to come out of the back of the TV. It stop when I remove the plug. What could it be ?

Accessing counters is not possible without specific B&O equipment.

SILVER MemberHi,
I get the board from SkynexAV. I had to provide my Avant serial number for the new board to be compatible, but once I received it, I was able to remove the backplate of the TV and change the board.
It is a couple of screws and connector to remove and replace. Being patient and taking pictures may help. Once it was installed, I don’t remember if I had to enter a new PIN code, but as the TV is still working, I might have done it.
Cheers,
Sergio

SILVER MemberI did change the video engine myself after the reference for the faulty one were provided. I get a new board (might be a refactored one) and it took me around 30mn to install the bew board in the TV. It is not a complicated operation to do, as long as you have the service manual and the right screwdriver 🙂

SILVER MemberI am always open to learn. the gap is going to be big as I went directly into computer science and the electronics I learn wheren’t practical… But why not !
I took a couple of pictures on the back without the plastic case :
I did not notice an exploded capacitor or something that look deficient (aka burn or something), but my skills are low. Dust, I saw a lot of dust… 😉
Anything to look in particular ? I can also buy a working one and switch parts. This one is in very good cosmetic condition and I was looking for a grey one. The black one is more common to find around Paris.

SILVER MemberBy any luck, do anyone know someone in Paris (France) area able to repair TV CRT ? I search a little bit with Google but no luck so far. CRT technicians are probably all retired… ;).

SILVER MemberThanks a lot Martin ! That is helpfull. If I understand correctly, it can explode if I power it again ?
Do you have and idea of the root cause of this problem ? Is the moving of the TV a probable one ?
