    Hi Markus

    Thank you for the update.

It is amazing what you are able to. Bringing new life into the oldfashion Beosound 5! Fantastic👍

I look forward to hear more news, also from other BS5 enthusiasts.

    Best regards Ruedi

    Hi Markus

thank you for the reply! After I have studied your approach closer, it is different to my wishfull thinking.

My setup is: BS5+ BM5 ( 1TB, latest MB), 2 Beolab 9 and 4 ML BS 3500. The BM is updated with a SSD and contents the music library. I use MOT often. CD playback I do use, but not the ripping function. Spoify is not a solution for my as opera and classical music enthusiast.  I dont have any cameras or light modes.

The system works well at the moment, but it is slow in changing radio stations and sometimes it needs several attemps to restart.

My dream is to have all the functions retained, but with a modern software and less issues.

An other benefit would be not to be fixed to the radio stations that B&O provides, but free URL setting.

Hopoe this answers your question about the setup.

    Regards Ruedi

    Hello!

This is what I have always dreamed off for the Beo 5! Thank you for your effort.

The design and the mechanics of the unit are ,imho, the peak of the B&O craftsmanship.

Is the alteration affected by the motherboard i.e. the type, year of the MB?

Does the master link option still work with the new setup?

Does the CD player/ripper still work? ripper not essential.

Can I add other URL, like personalised, paid for , stations?

    Best regards Ruedi

    Hallo

    Hello Luc

thank you for the recipe! I will go on with it, but my software knowlege is basic.

Still, it is a tempting solution to propel BS5 in the new age of communication!

    Hi Luc

    Good idea to use VNC!

What version have you loaded to the BM5 and to what file?

Have you made the upload with USB stick?

    Thank you!

    Hi beochecker

last night our BV 10 32 gave up: sound ok, screen black!

Is there a chance to repair it?

Since we like the design of the BV, has anybody build another TV set into the body of the BS 10 32?

    Best regards

    Hello

I have the Contour and Iam happy with it. It sits on a floorstand now, but I bought it s/h with a B&O wall bracket.

This B&O wall bracket is for sale. Please send a PM for further information.

    Regards Ruedi

    Hello Guy

Great! your layout has showed me the differencies! In my whole setup I have only one old BEO4 and this is why I wondered is it “kaputt”?

Well, now I know and accept the functions it offers: as I sad as a bathroom radio remote.

Thank you all for the support and the patience to help me with the problem. It is, also in new form, the best B&O forum.

    best regards Ruedi

    Hi

With the help from Keith I found:   SW 1.1

As found out by the help of Millemissen: my Beo 4 is a very old version, that does not have the more recent LIST functions. Anyway, it does a good job to turn on RADIO on the bathroom’s BeoLab 3500.

For more functions I have to find a newer Beo4.  What version do I have to look for to get N-Radio, N-Music ?

Thank you all for the friendly support!

Thank you, Millemissen and Guy for the quick reply.

For numbers: All I see is: Type 1624  Serial No. 11191151

It is not a hotel version, it has all the buttons. Nmusic can be played with Phono, thats great!

I can live with it and look further for a replacement.

    Thanks again!
