Thanks Mark. I brought the turntable and amp home to look at. The arm is now behaving and drops on both LPs and singles. There are no speakers but I’ve listened through headphones and the sound is pretty good. I need to alter the counterweight on the arm as it isn’t at the weight recommended in the manual to see if that improves the sound.
The other issue now is that when the arm drops on an LP the led red light is on the 33 speed but the record spins at 45, when I then press the 45 button it slows to 33 which is odd.
I also need to test somehow if the 33 and 45 speeds are accurate.
Any clues how I might put this right or test the speeds for accuracy
