MillemisGOLD MemberBack in the days I have had a Playmaker running wirelessly.
However, you should always – whenever possible – use it wired. It can be tricky in some environments.
Please consider, when airplaying to it (which is what most people do), you are using Airplay 1 (meaning the original Airplay version). AP1 uses a lot more bandwith for streaming than the later AP2 version. This might also cause some hickups from time to time.
The Playmaker is still a nice device, when used wired – the line-in connection with the auto sense is a great/usefull feature.

MillemisGOLD MemberAs far as I know, this room correction SW is two channel aka stereo only.
I am not sure that ‘room correcting’ seperately for two sets of speakers is optimal for a multichannel/surround setup.

MillemisGOLD MemberSince modern NL-based – as I suppose that you mean – B&O products aren’t Audio-/videomasters in the same sense as with the ML-based, there is no AV function there.
This A/V had its origin in the fact that looong ago tv programmes were in mono – when the sound was broadcasted over a radio program, you could enjoy the sound in stereo using the link A/V function.
Long story short….it is not possible anymore.

MillemisGOLD MemberIndeed that can be used as an alternative to the full Theatre experience…..if you rely on wireless/WiSA speakers.
Main problem that I see with you setup is, that you do not have a center channel in the mix.

So you have got a later version for your Essence, than I have on mine (and one of those is even far behind, although it says ‘updated’).
It is ‘weird’……if I may say it with a modern buzzword 🤣

MillemisGOLD MemberI too prefer looking at ‘fresh’.
However, (at least in my case/iPad, Safari) it takes several klicks to get there, when you have been deep into reading a thread.
I see the workaround with the direct UR, but that (again on my iPad) would mean opening yet another tab or leaving the browser to look up and copy that URL for inserting it in rhe current open tab.
Previously there were direct links to ‘fresh’, ‘starting new topic’ and a couple more at the top of whatever page, you were into. Maybe it would be possible to have that again somehow. That would make it easier to browse for threads and starting new topics.
N.B. I am aware that things might look different using another browser or on a pc etc. I am just describing what I experience on my iPad…..maybe I am the only one using an iPad 😉

They are all set to auto update.
So why do they have different versions?
However – as I wrote – they all do what I need from them – so there can’t be much difference or improvement there.
P.S. No experience here with ir eye – all my current stuff is NL-based and BROne/bluetooth controlled.

…and that is the latest it has gotten with Autoupdate set to on.
I do not remember when it was done.
P.S.
A bit of a mystery, though, is that Beotool shows something different.
When searching in the app, it says ‘up to date’ 😏
No big deal for me – my Essences do what I expect from them respectively need.

MillemisGOLD MemberThanks! On every priviously BV there was a P.Mute (picture mute) option in the remote. This has been missed by some of us and has been reported to B&O as a wish for… However those of us, who might benefit from this function, are obviously too few for them to get into action. I have had a workaround for this for a while, that I can live with. The link to the Reddit page mostly present solutions for those who use the Magic Remote – not for us with a BROne. However one suggestion can be used:
Going into the Settings and doing this should not be a problem with the BROne. This means – translated to the BROne – that you must find this entry in the List:
Sorry for the danish language – I am sure you will find it ? On the screen it then looks like this (please note, that I have deleted all other entries there….I do not need those.
Pushing ‘Skærm fra’/Picture off does the job ? A couple of actions, yes – but it does the job……untill maybe someday B&O might reintroduce P.Mute again as an entry in the List of the remote. Hope that helps. Note! This is a general solution of the LG tv, that works for any source, be it internal or external. My LG version is a C2.

Sadly there have been made some changes for the BROne from the side of B&O here.
The new remote SW does not support the above mentioned ‘workaround’ anymore.
If you – as described – go into List there is no entry for Muligheder/Options any more.
This means, that you can no longer have this rather quick access to turn off the screen (as described above in my original post)….which is a pity.
Am I really the only one, who wants to turn off the LG screen, when I listen to a music album (mostly in Atmos) from the Apple Music app on my AppleTV – or when I use my Blu Ray player as a CD player???
How can removing features be progress 😡

MillemisGOLD Member“Any suggestions”
No, not really!
I have always used a dedicated (older) iPad/iPhone for music playback….…….and have had the iPhone be a phone.
Actually I have over the years had different setups with the trusted old Playmaker, but have never experienced what you describe. Mostly it was a source (A.Tape/A.Aux) connected to a ML master in the ML setup.
Sorry – that is not much help 😏

MillemisGOLD MemberTo my knowledge there is no support for Spotify on the Beosound 5.
That was added at a certain point in its life, but afterwards removed again due to changes in the Spotify sw.
I know that some have tingered with adding ‘3.rd party support’ on the BM harddrive!
How that would work today, I do not know?
I have never heard of any restrictions regards the ‘distribution boxes’.
I used to have several junction boxes in my ML network, when I still had that.
