As far as I know, no. Airplay is Airplay.
Member Leogonewild did a mod on a Beolit (12 I think but maybe 15) to insert a google home inside. Quite a work if I remember correctly but neat and clean. If you like challenges…

Interesting reading.
Both seems to point out that a failed update doesn’t ‘brick’ the device (Apple Anxiety again…).
In the end I believe it’s just a psychological issue like “if don’t update I will miss new features making my BS1 sounds like a BL90 and many other fancy stuff.
It works, don’t touch anything (because ‘loudness’ is not really a thing I miss – more on my Beolit 12…).

Hi Charlie,
Even when you meticulously follow the wake up procedure for Beo5/6 it sometimes does’nt work. Then you try again the day after and it works.
Once I was close to prove that it has to do with the conjuction of solar wind, the song playing in the radio at that exact moment, and the time of the days. But in the end I was unable to gather enough data to be sure.I’ve become comfortable that there is no rules when playing with those thing but this one: A dead Beo6 does not exists.
You have to keep trying until it works.

Hi Madskp,
1- I believe the antennas are the two side strips on the lower body of the unit. In the top part all I’ve seen looks like controls parts (rotating volume and touch panel. Nevertheless, Wifi does’nt seems to be the issue. More likely the link between the app and the device.
2- Yes I’ve tried to reset the unit (thus erasing the wifi credentials) and use ethernet only: same behavior, the app sees the unit because it sets the gold color in the app and after that cant establish connection. Then again, even in wireless mode, the airplay connection is steady and strong.
3- No, but see above.
4- Yes it has and it was quite a surprise. The web server is the same as the one in the playmaker or the Beolit 12, same look and features that the Beosetup App.
Then, yes, it could be a good place to try the update. But I’m still reluctant to do it (Years of Apple Update Anxiety…).Thank you for your help.

Ths unit was on test in my office. few minuts ago I wanted to move it and had to unplug it. Guess what? It continued to play for like 40 secondes until I pkugged it again.
The BeoSetup App* shows battery level at 100% and Batteru health as “Good”. This need to be investigate in the days to come.B&O App still can’t maintain connection.

Answer to myself,
The battery is dead. After like 8 hours plugged to mains, the unit turns off as soon as it is unplugged.
In the meantime I learned that the battery status can be checked in the app,
but the unit doesn’t provide consistent communication with it so, impossible to tell.Location: Paris France

I honestly don’t understand historical people who leads people to any other source than BW.
You (– We?– I’m still unable to count me in) have fight for our forum, upgrading the metal badge and “swearing allegiance”…
I’m not good at fights maybe because I’m too blunt so I try to stay away from fights.
But I can’t stand historical members point to “three posts members” a source where all (sorry) the rats have flew.
I believe Beoworld is about knowledge, passion and share. Not about views, visibility and presence.
I also believe Members have turned their mind for whatever reason I don’t get.Is BW dying? Maybe. I also feel the lack of activity.
Are all my fellows playing somewhere else? As Stan says, maybe, but it’s beyond my skills.
Am I angry to every each member that left BW for political reasons and leads to that kind of totally stupid thread? YES.And please, be all assured that it is a “political” reply because, deeply, it is worst.
