@KolfMAKER Thank you so much for this detailed write up. I learned so much on this thread and was able to test my BEOSOUND 9000 MK2 as well. Big thanks from California.
I believe the symptoms are identical on my machine. when I try to play a CD, I can hear some clicking noise but it eventually just says “PAUSE”
When I run TM 27. I getNO ML ERROR
NO IIC ERR
1 CD ERR 2 = Focus error, it has not been possible to find focus.
NO SER ERROR
NO SLG ERR
NO PLT ERROR
NO APS ERRORHowever, this is where things get interesting. the sledge moves fine when I manually select CDs in various slots and also (TM 71: Mechanical test of finger protection, sledge and led) seems to work well.
but when I run (TM 65: Light pen to outermost position), the lightpen does not seem to respond or move to the very right.I was trying to use TM 65 so I can clean the top of the laser but ran into this issue.
I can try dissecting the machine and clean and front and back of the laser. this is my next plan. but the fact that TM 65 does not do anything, worries me. Does TM 65 work on your MK2 by any chance?
One other quick question, where did you source the laser if you don’t mind asking. I have a different type 2563, so I’ll have to double check with the seller but since yours worked, I’d love to get it from a reputable source.
have a great weekend!
thanks for the schematic jacek1313,
am I supposed to grab a multimeter and measure this while the unit is on? I have never done these things before but I do have a fluke multimeter handy.
I wasn’t sure what the manual meant by “regulate” here.
hey Svet, were you able to resolve this issue by any chance?
my century is also giving “3” when running CD TEST.manual simply says
“Does the RAD output regulate? RAD 81C7802-15.
Does the radial motor regulate? R AD+8 P1801-4/RA8DP- 1801-3.” and I do not fully understand what this means.Hi Rolf2,
the information you provided is invaluable and I appreciate it so much.
so If I get the correct Panasonic remote. I should be able to switch the TV on and switch the “input” to whatever I’m connecting.
do I need to remove the frame of the TV to get the IR to read or it should be okay with everything assembled?
I’d love to get the model number of the remote but I’ll also do some research on my end. I’d love to not connect the huge Beosystem 1 in my bedroom if I don’t have to.
If i can simply have an apple tv connected via HDMI somehow without Beosystem 1. that would be my dream. (maybe rca to HDMI adapter?)
thank you for chiming in.
so maybe a panasonic remote might help here? with the switching issue.
thank you so much for the tip here @matador.
I just realized I posted in the sales forum. I’ll repost this in the correct sub forum. My apologies here.
Looks like you completely cleaned up the mk2 lens and got it working again. This gives me so much hope and this is my next mission.
I still do not have a beo4 or beolink 1000 remote so I cannot fully diassemble the cd mechanism yet. Once I get the remote, I’ll follow your video and clean the lens inside/outside.
Question: What type of grease/oil do you put on the rail? (small rod next to the cd lens that you greased?) deoxit fader lube is probably not okay right?
