First, perform a 3D scan on the original protective case, iPad mini 5 and Apple OEM adapter. Then modify the model based on the scanned data of the original case. Since I need to use the genuine Apple adapter, I want to avoid damaging the speaker base. If adopting the solution for standard iPads, the base would require hole enlargement to conceal the adapter inside the speaker enclosure. My design mounts the adapter within the protective case instead, leaving all original hardware completely untouched. A second-hand iPad mini 5 only costs $74 in China. My cellular-enabled iPad mini 5 was purchased at the same price, with zero scratches or dings. In addition, the genuine Apple adapter is $12, and the B&O A3 speaker is around $40.
