All you need to do is plug in the 1611 in the masterlink network, then plug in the mains of the 1611. Hit TV on a beoremote and you are there.

I’ve be operating my beomaster 5 with a 1611 and a chromecast audio for many years flawlessly. I’ve decided last year to upgrade with a beolink converter NL/ML and added 2 beoplay M3 in rooms where I was using beolink wireless setups. I don’t regret this choice, and the overall cost was pretty low.

My whole appartement is wired with ML, I do have a BLC and some NL products, but listening to different streams at the same time is not what I’m looking for, as it is more of a nuisance then an experience (like kids blasting their questionable music choices in the kitchen while I’m watching TV).
The idea for me is more that music follows you from room to room when your getting ready in the morning, or playing the same tune in every room when your throwing a big party (WC is also connected).
Probably if you live in a multi floored house or really big place, the setup makes sens, thanks for sharing your experience!

7/Removing the back plate, IR LEDs will bend straight when gently pulling it out, no other choice, clearly was not made to be taken apart.
8/Cleaning with white vinegar and isopropyl alcohol (chatgpted this)
9/Fixing the tabs back with superglue, seems to work
10/Got some life back but still not working.
I will bring it to a shop, but I believe I did the most difficult part.
