My 9000 did the same thing, it was the what they call the “rocker arm” that was worn. There is rubber washer over part of it that wears away with age. I changed it the arm and no more scraping.

You must be logged in to view attached files. The Foam starts to disintegrate and becomes a sticky goo that damages the PC boards causing a lot of issue and ultimately causing the speaker to stop working. Corrodes everything.
My stage is still working fine. LG did a big update though on their TV’s so I am not sure if that is why you are having issues. My LG did a big update with a lot of changes but I can’t remember offhand what model TV I have…however I am having no problems. My Stage also has the latest update loaded.
10 September 2024 at 11:34 in reply to: Beosound Stage is turning my LG A1 Oled on every night around 2.30am……. #58975I am having a similar problem with my stage. I will turn the TV off, stage will turn off then 5 min later the stage will turn everything back on. It doesn’t do it every time, it does it randomly but always around 5 min or so after turning everything off. Very bizarre.
I use a B&O wireless charger to charge my phone at night.
Best wireless charger I have ever used, clearly I am not one of the many who finds that.
Surprised they have cancelled it..that it is odd.
Its a Mk 1, I have given up on it to be honest and have asked the seller (reseller of B&O equipment) to take it back and refund me.
Thank you though for all the advice, perhaps a MK2 would work better.
Software is up to date, no idea if its a MK1 or Mk2
Ok I bought a WiFi extender by mistake….I now understand what you mean so what I have done is I have taken the playmaker to the room where the router is and have connected the playmaker via an Ethernet cable directly to the router, connected speakers and I still have the same issue! 🙁
So I purchased a powered network adaptor. The adaptor has full bar signal…..connected the playmaker via Ethernet cable. It works initially then a couple of hours later when the TV has been used it has the same problem. As soon as the TV is switched on I can’t connect anymore to the playmaker via Airplay. I can see the playmaker on Apple Music but it says cannot connect. If I turn the TV off the playmaker still doesn’t work, I have to reboot the playmaker each time. I have tried to change the channel used on the Wifi router but it made no difference.
Thanks Guy for the reply. I will have to try that as its too far to connect it to the router.
Otherwise it works really well and is quite useful.
Another reason why the sound isn’t great is that if it still has the original dampening foam inside, it would have turned to mush by now and that effects the sound greatly. When I changed the foam in mine the sound changed dramatically. Was like a totally different speaker.
Sooo many that I couldn’t part with but mainly would never sell my Beosound 9000 and Beolab 9’s.
I use a beolink 1611 converter with all my stand alone BL3500’s. Works perfectly.
Only have to press one button to start listening and you can alter the bass, treble etc and the preset volume. You can’t do anything like when using just a cable.
