I have a pair of S45-1 (6302) and I needed to service the woofers as well.
I found that these woofers are of a non-standard type in the sense that they have a set of leakage holes just inside the dustcap, a kind of “variovent” solution, to make it work in an essentially too small enclosure for a 200mm driver.
I an uneducated attempt to “improve” the driver I coated it with acrylic, which sealed the previously air-transparent dustcap. The system was now completely sealed, and the result was terrible, too high fc (85Hz -> 68Hz) and too high Q (0.7 -> 1.1 ). And that was exactly what it sounded like, throttled and bumpy. I had to remove the sealed dustcaps and replace them with new ones of air-transparent textile type. Then it went back to normal. You live and learn.
I am not sure if the S45-2 (6312) is the same, but please check it before you try to replace the woofers.
