I know there is still a lot of work getting the product pages updated with all the scanned manuals and other information.

But I have some suggestions for further addition of repair resources on the product pages.

        1)

Picures from the inside of products and/or pictures of PCB’s (preferable both front an back) could be added. This could make it easier to explain where to look for something and compare if something is missing or have exploded. Also different PCB versions or MK version of a products could be reflected this way. This would probably rely much on users taking pictures when repairing products.

        2)

Software for at least older products that could be downloaded and programmed to Eproms. Of course this will only be for the few to use as most do not have the equipment for programming chips, but could be a way to get a repair center to help upgrading a product. I do not know if the software is copyrighted in a way that this is a no go, so might not be viable.

Also software like Beoplayer could be a thing if copyright is not an issue.

        3)

Diagrams for products where this is not available in the servicemanual, and updates to diagrams in the servicemanuals.

I have in case of the Beolab 3500 MK2 tried to trace the diagram for part of a PCB to better understand the differences compared to the MK1. In this case the diagram was available in the servicemanaul for the MK1, but not for the MK2.

Also I have seen more that one case where the diagram in the servicemanual has small errors, like wrong pin numbering. The right info could be shown with red text to reflect that it is updated information.

Again this would rely heavily on user input, and not many would actually do this, so maybe a very marginal area.

I know that the above will be a great task, and will  rely much on user input, so fully understand if it is not a thing that is not prioritised but now you have the idea.

          Thanks Madskp, some good ideas.

          1. Regarding images, this would be a good addition to the product pages, we will have a think about how this can look
          2. I’m not sure about the software side for eproms, it’s not something that we really have. of course if there is some out there we are more than willing to add them to the product pages
          3. All of the additional information for the service manuals will be available, of course we can collate information from members where there is some incorrect information. The can be a section in the product page.

The current projects we are working on are

          • Backend code – rewriting some of the code to hopefully improve and streamline a bit more.
          • Product images – we are looking to update some of the product photos
          • Service Manuals – Of course we are still adding service manuals, this is very time consuming. I am currently trying to investigate an alternate method of how we upload and make them visible whilst still only allowing them to be available to our gold & silver members

I don’t know if it is related to this update, but I just got an error (red bar) saying that I could not post a replay without content (maybe not that excact phrase) when I tried to post this https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/what-are-you-working-on-now/page/8/#post-64051 with the picture inserted. I tried several times and got the error each time until I tried posting with the picture attached instead.

There was definitely an issue with adding images in the post. I have just resolved it. 👍
