but these “wireless” speakers can be interpreted two ways. My way (wireless PL) works flawless, your’s (wireless sources) not.

I can’t speak about your equipment (partial) because I do have most others. But my equipment is nor horrible, it is in general terrific.

1. did you set or ever tried to set static IP addresses for Core and/or BL50?
2. Beosystem 7000 is connected and works flawless
3. Beoconnect Core is USB connected and works fine (in response to my post)
4. the Halo seems to work fine also (but it works through IP not bluetooth)
5. Do you have a Beoconnect or Beosound Core? or both (one time you name it Beosound the other time Beoconnect)
6. There is a flaw in Mozart devices: if I try to stream DNLA music to BL8 and/or BL28 often the sources do not start. maybe the same type of problem as you have?? But I use a work around (easy with an exess of equipment).
7. I do have several BR1 BT, none of them hardly did ever lose its connection. Is the BR1 close enough? Is the BR1 not been set to connect to another device (easy to have and most pleople do not notice and most people didn’t notice that the did set it this way)?
8. The B&o app: the BL50 part can be flawed or not, but I simply can’t know and say anything about it. But it seems the origin for most of your ploblems. For my setup it works fine (again).

What I do not understand in your use: why use bluetooth to stream music to quality speakers.

I had a Core. That worked flawlessly, Now replaced with a connect core. Nothing but connection issues!

You ask why Bluetooth? That is the way the connect core is designed to receive music? How else? Or am I missing something?

Again, I’m not ridiculing your arguments, I only give other arguments, my arguments. I do not have your experiences and my equipment (a lot) does as expected and does it extremely well.

I’m not going to argue about bluetooth and sound quality, find out for yourself. Furtheron it is not the only way to stream. There are better ways.

 

Hopefully you’ll find a way to get everything working the way it should and can, succes!

Hmmmmm….

Well today I suscribed to Spotify instead of Apple music.

I have just spent 30 mins listening to their way (however that is?) of connecting to the Beoconnect Core and I am so unimpressed I will now cancel my sub to them! Incredibly weak and thin lacking in detail and depth!

It is so woefully down on sound quality compared to bluetooth connected Apple music.

So whilst you critise my choice of bluetooth connection perhaps you could enlighten me as to what is better?

For sure Spotify has failed misserably!

Standard Bluetooth does not have the bandwidth to support the amount of data that’s needed to transmit lossless music.
Instead, it will downsample the signal into a lossy one en route to your speakers or headphones—which is annoying if you’re paying a streaming service extra for the privilege of better quality music.
The APT-X codecs does support higher bandwith.
However, the BCC does not support APT-X.

Spotify Connect works differently than transmitting sound via Bluetooth.

The ‘source device’  (typically an iPhone/iPad with the Spotify app installed) is just a controller – the stream is fetched directly from the playing device via the network.
Spotify Connect makes lossless streaming (in ‘CD-quality’) possible – however, only with devices, that have support for it (the BCC does!)

The support for lossless quality streaming must be configured in the Spotify app – and you need a paid version of Spotify for this.

Very few people – that I have come across – would rate the quality of a music stream submitted via BT higher than the lossless variant of Spotify.

Apple Music Behavior: When casting Apple Music via AirPlay 2, the stream is typically re-encoded to 256 kbps AAC (lossy), even if lossless settings are turned on in your app.
You can stream higher quality via AirPlay, but only if your sending device and the receiving device are regular AirPlay/AirPlay 1 devices.
The BCC is an AirPlay 2 device – which limits the quality of a stream that might be available in the Music app in a higher quality.

Yeah well… I was anticipating someone coming out with all the numbers to say this is better than that? So you didn’t disapoint.

But I am not wearing it! Spotify on Lossless does not come close at all with Apple Hi res music lossless.

Sorry. Apple wins hands down with these speakers. Living with Spotify woud drive me crazy. It already is!

But is there another way to send Apple Music to the Beoconnect Core as the BT seems to be the issue?

I just managed to swap spotify connect for spotify bluetooth! The difference is sound quality is remarkable. So anyone taking the P out of Bluetooth take a long hard look in the mirror? You are so wrong!

I am sorry but until you have owned and lived with Beolab 5o’s you will not be understanding what is happening here?

Normal streaming services can sound very nice on lesser equipment I a very sure?

Beolab 50’s really show every difiencancy in sound delivery? That creates issues?

I have played around now for a few days with Spotity Connect lossless versus normal connecting via BT vs Apple music Atmos and the Apple Atmos BT wins hands down 200%! So much more clarity, colour, depth, softness, and presence.

But the connection is not stable!!!

Well I didn’t say that at all did I?  I merely stated that a BT connection sounds superior to Airplay or Spotify Connect after being advised that there are better ways to connect? When it works! And I totally stand by that.

‘Somewhat ironic seeing a post from you attempting to ridicule my critisms of Beolab 50 after you had so many issues with yours they had to be replaced?

And for sure I have reached the end of the road. If there was a way out without losing so much money I would have taken it long ago!

But for sure I will not set my sights on any more of this tech that only barely works, occasionally, with virtually no support!
