BRONZE MemberI have just traded my BeoVision 10 for a BeoVision 11 and the latter lacks a Masterlink connection. I have daisychained my BeoSound 9000 to my BeoLab 8000 speakers via the BeoVision.
When the TV plays, it all works perfectly. But when I turn on my BeoSound, there is a high pitch sound coming from the speakers.
How can I solve this?
Any help is appreciatedMy B&O Icons:21 April 2025 at 18:59 #65249ModeratorHi and welcome to Beoworld!
Effectively you have two devices connected directly to your Beolabs, which you shouldn’t do – for reasons that you have discovered, but you could also cause damage!
You have at least two options:
- A powerlink switch like this to enable two devices to share the speakers:ย https://shop.oneremote.dk/shop/69067-powerlink-switch/4162-powerlink-speaker-switch/
- Adding a NL/ML Converter so that you can connect the ML socket of the BeoSound to the NL socket of the TV.ย This could be a better option if you want to add more NL devices in the future and want to play the BeoSound 9000 over the NL system.
There are possibly other options making use of the aux input of the BeoSound (or AV input of the TV) but these may not be as user-friendly.
EDIT:ย Here’s a cable from one of our Sponsors that makes use of the TV’s AV input:ย https://soundsheavenly.com/tv-input/138-2295-9-pin-av-cable-for-beovision-11-12-new-generation-avant-v1-and-beosystem-4-powerlink-input.html#/5-length-5m

GOLD MemberI agree with guy that the two proposed solutions are the most user friendly options.A powerlink switch like this to enable two devices to share the speakers:ย https://shop.oneremote.dk/shop/69067-powerlink-switch/4162-powerlink-speaker-switch/
If you do not need multiroom features the powerlink switch might be the simplest of the two suggestions as it’s mostly plug and play. I would just like to mentions that there are other products like that. For example the brand Almando has similar solutions which can switch between even more inputs so you can add a music streamer like Sonos Port, Airport express, Chromecast Audio or whatever you wish.ย https://almando.com/Multiplay-Stereo-III_1
I do not have experience with the current version, but have an older one that has been working without issue for around 10ย years now.

BRONZE MemberDear Guy and Madskip,
thank you for your feedback. When you mentioned the Almando I remembered that I do have such a device installed to connect my Apple Airplay to the BeoLab speakers. Since that is a SPIF connection I realised that I should have one PowerLink input port available. And so it was. I connected the BeoSound to the Almando and it works like a charm.
Again thank you both for the prompt replies
Cheers
Paul

GOLD MemberGreat to hear that it was so relatively easy to solve the issue ๐
my Almando switch only have the 2 Powerlink inputs which is fine in my setup, but great that yours had an extra input
