Struggling to find a definite answer on this so hopefully someone on the most knowledgeable B&O forum can help me.

Will a BeoCord VX7000 work properly with my BeoVision LX4500 TV, particularly when it comes to remote control operation?
I’ve heard mixed things online, so I’m hoping someone can clear this up.
I have both a Beo4 and a Beolink 1000 remote. From what I’ve read, some later VX7000s apparently only work with the Beo4, which seems quite unusual for B&O. I’m not sure whether that information is actually correct, as pretty much every bit of B&O kit I own from around the same period works perfectly fine with either remote, apart from my Beosystem 5000.
What confuses me even more is that the much later V8000 VCR and even the DVD-1 are known to work perfectly fine with the LX4500, including remote control operation.
So why is there such a grey area surrounding the VX7000’s compatibility? Especially considering it was released only about a year after the LX4500 was discontinued.
Has anyone actually used a VX7000 with an LX4500 and can confirm whether everything works as it should, including play, stop, rewind and fast forward using the TV’s remote?

Have a look at this thread – I see no reason to doubt Peter’s answer about specific type numbers:

As other’s have stated, the machine will function, but may exhibit odd behavior depending upon the level of software on board.

B&O continually updated the software to include new functions and to ensure compatibility with newer product, but of course not alway’s backwards compatibilty.

The earlier VX5500 should be a plug n go solution.

I have a spare one up for grab’s,which was functioning before storage.Free to you for shipping costs,or collect if local-ish?

Agree Peter’s post is the right info on this.

To test out my web port of the Product Configuration Guide, I got this response from the 1997 Great Britain Rulebook:
