ModeratorWell, that didn’t work! On replacing the pickup, and attempting to play a CD, the spindle motor did spin up this time, but my hopes were short lived. After a second or two, the spindle motor stopped, and the CD clamp opened. Placed the unit into Test Mode. It initially gave an error 7 on pressing CD, but now repeatedly gives an error 3. I removed & checked all the connections, but error 3 it is.
That’s a shame – do you plan to replace the servo board capacitors next?
(My BC2300 CD fix had similar results – it worked for a short while when I replaced just the laser, but had to replace caps for a permanent solution)

GEORGIOS HATZIPETRISBRONZE MemberI have the Beosound Century with a 1255 CD mechanism.Because it was not easy to find the laser eye I had a 12.4 CDI mechanism and a 2300 servo board from Beosound 2300So I proceeded to convert the board to be placed in the century .The CD works and I have sound but after 2,3 minutes the sound comes out distorted .In the middle the Century cd interface board has three components named D1, D2, TR1.I think this is the problem. I have placed the wrong components .Can someone tell me which diodes are and which transistor is it?I have placed 1n4148.
Thanks in advance.
