SILVER MemberHi Beoworld, I need to replace the backup battery in my Beomaster 7000 and can’t find the complete procedure. I even downloaded the service manual from the forum (which I believe isn’t complete), but it doesn’t explain anything about it. Can anyone help me please ?
Thanks

Hello there. Did you see this post from the older archived forum?

SILVER MemberHi pepps, I haven’t seen this thread, but I’ve seen others, and none of them have answered my questions. I’d prefer a complete service manual for the BM 7000 for a complete description. The only one I’ve been able to find is for the BM 6500, which I think is slightly different…
19 February 2026 at 10:58 #74060 GuyModeratorThe Service Manual on the site should be enough to go on – it shows the position of PCB4 (page 10-1), and a diagram of PCB4 (page 11-5 – two versions shown) showing where the battery is located.
I usually fit these batteries as the have the correct pin spacing: https://uk.farnell.com/renata/cr2450-nfh-lf/battery-lmo-0-54ah-3v/dp/4551077
Just be careful when desoldering/soldering as there is a risk of explosion if too much heat applied.

Further to the above, this video may be useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVLcn-fd3VY
You can see the removal of PCB4 about 10 minutes in – the battery will be under the metal cover with the yellow label.
Sometime the Kose videos can be a bit ‘rough and ready’ (I would never use a powered screwdriver, for instance), so just be very careful not to break anything else when dismantling, especially when disconnecting plugs and prising old brittle plastic out of the way.
EDIT: See also this thread for a picture of the battery: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/beomaster-7000-preset-levels-issue/

SILVER MemberHi Guy, thanks for the information (I’d already seen some of it). I was thinking of doing what you suggested. I don’t think I haven’t any trouble to disassemble the BM 7000 and replacing the battery. My doubt is about the correct procedure for restoring the factory settings. I can probably use the BM 6500 settings as a reference. Or I could connect another battery in parallel before unsoldering the original one so as not to lose the programming.
19 February 2026 at 14:55 #74077 skolesenGOLD MemberI even downloaded the service manual from the forum (which I believe isn’t complete),
The Service manual for the BM70000 is an ad on to the BM6500 service manual. So you also need the service manual for the BM6500 for completion.
When backup battery has been replaced you need to conduct test 7 and 16 as described on page 7-6 in the BM6500 service manual (taken from my notes when I replaced the backup battery on my BM6500).
